Job DescriptionThe Loss Prevention/Emergency Services Team Lead provides physical security, asset protection, fire protection, and emergency preparedness and response plans for Ohio Operations. Duties include managing and leading all mill security functions and compliance with FM global fire protection requirements, incident command and hazardous materials handling and training. Reports to the Manager of Safety and Health.
Role and Responsibilities
- Ensures those entering the mill meet all safety requirements.
- Provides back-up to the Manager Safety and Health as required and provide Safety and Health team support during outages.
- Coordinates, organizes and schedules work to security personnel
- Manages the fire protection system on a 24-hour, 7-day a week basis.
- Ensures the mill fire protection systems and alarms are reliable and in good working order.
- Facility wide responsibility for the inspection, repair and annual certification of the potable water back flow prevention devices and all fire prevention equipment.
- The direct contact with FM Global for fire safety human element and equipment inspections to meet insurance compliance requirements.
- Responsible for compliance with Security, Contractor Safety, FCC and DOT requirements.
- Interacts and maintains relationship with mutual aid and regulatory organizations on emergency response and other compliance-related functions.
- Regularly audits programs for compliance and works with other facilities for shared opportunities.
- Monitors Department of Homeland Security requirements and implements as appropriate.
- Responsible for the development of the emergency preparedness and response activities; including the organization, training and readiness of the Emergency Response Team and EMTs
- Manages and is directly responsible for the Loss Prevention and Emergency Response budget. Including overseeing ordering and invoice payment, and working closely on financial matters with the Manager Health and Safety and the Manufacturing Services Manager.
- Bachelor’s Degree Safety, Fire Science or Hazard Preparedness preferred. Must be a certified Emergency Medical Technician, Certified Fire-Fighter and qualified in Emergency Response Incident Command.
- Experience: Five to ten years in manufacturing; preferably pulp and paper or chemical industry.
- Experience in handling emergency response and incident command.
- Must possess ability to perform training.
- Must be capable in crisis management and effective communication.
- Command skills, high integrity, ability to work without direct supervision and good interpersonal skills are necessary to be successful in this role.
