Title: Insulation Install Manager
Reports to: Division Manager
FLSA Status: Exempt
Division: Ocean Isle Beach, NC

Purpose:
Under the direction of the Division Manager, will oversee and dispatch installation installer crews and manage insulation inventory.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for overseeing the Insulation Installer crew, including managing daily activities, assigning tasks and monitoring performance to ensure high standards of workmanship and efficiency. Provide guidance, support, and motivation to the team, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
  • Responsible for the complete inventory of insulation and insulation accessories, ensuring accurate tracking, storage, and replenishment of materials. This includes overseeing the procurement process, maintaining optimal stock levels, conducting regular inventory audits, and implementing effective inventory control systems to minimize waste and ensure that all necessary materials are available for projects.
  • Reviews orders or schedules to ascertain product data such as types, quantities, and specifications of products and scheduled delivery dates in order to plan department operations.
  • Plans job operations, establishing priorities and sequences of Jobs.
  • Dispatch and coordinate insulation installation jobs by effectively communicating and collaborating with installing crews, builders, and sales personnel.
  • Requires liaising with builders to ensure site readiness and addressing any logistical challenges that may arise.
  • Possess a comprehensive understanding of North Carolina and South Carolina building codes, specifically those related to insulation. Staying up to date with all relevant regulations, standards, and best practices for insulation installation in both states. Additionally, being able to interpret and implement these codes during the planning and execution phases of each project is crucial for ensuring legal compliance and maintaining the highest quality of work.
  • Collecting and verifying all job tickets from the installation crews, ensuring that all hours worked, job details, and any additional compensation are accurately recorded.
  • Develops or revises standard operational and working practices and observes workers to ensure compliance with standards.
  • Resolves worker grievances or submits unsettled grievances to Production Supervisor or Crew Leader for action.
  • Directs the implementation of safe operating practices in compliance with Company and regulatory policies (DOT regulations, forklift operations, OSHA compliance, etc.
  • Demonstrate positive interactions with the public, and positive interpersonal relations in dealing with fellow employees, supervisors, and other department employees, so that productivity and positive employee relations are maximized
  • Support and contribute to effective safety and risk management efforts by adhering to established policies and procedures, maintaining a safe environment, promoting accident prevention, and identifying and reporting potential liabilities
  • Maintain confidentiality and accuracy of all information related to company finances and records
  • Adhere to company procedures, policies and protocols as set forth in the Hourly Employees Handbook
  • Other duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Carries out managerial responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.
  • Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and developing/training team members; planning, assigning, directing, and delegating work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining team members; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

  • 4-5 years of directly related experience in the lumber or building materials industry with multiple assignments in all phases of the business.
  • Knowledge/experience in building materials, procurement, inventory management and supervision of people is required.
  • Must also have strong customer service experience, and good organizational skills.

COMPETENCIES:
Language Skills

  • Bilingual in English & Spanish preferred
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common financial reports, trade journals, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints of customers regulatory agencies or member of the business community.
  • Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.
  • Must be able to persuade individuals or groups to take actions that would result in obtaining a mutually desired outcome. Influencing others is a major requirement of this position.
  • Must have exceptional leadership and teamwork abilities.

Mathematical Skills

  • Ability to apply concepts such as fraction, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions percentages, area, circumference and volume.
  • Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
  • Must be able to develop and interpret graphs and charts.

Reasoning Ability

  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions and deal with several abstract and concrete variables. Solutions require modification of standard approaches to develop alternative course of action. Problems are varied and unrelated and require problem identification and analyses.
  • Develops new ways of doing things that introduce new elements.

  • Occasional travel may be required.
  • Must be knowledgeable about and follow the company’s safety policies and procedures.
