The Powers Safety Coordinator will coordinate, develop, and administer the organization’s safety programs to promote and ensure compliance with applicable safety regulations.


Duties and Responsibilities

  • Leads the company’s safety initiatives working with management and the Safety Planning Team to develop, prepare, and implement safety policies and procedures.
  • Provides recommendations for optimizations and additions to the safety management program in all areas to support the company’s safety goals.
  • Implements and executes company safety programs to promote and ensure a safe working environment.
  • Conducts regular analytical studies and job site inspections to judge the effectiveness of safety programs and implements any improvements needed.
  • Reviews current safety training and recommends revisions, improvements, and updates.
  • Conduct regular inspections of safety equipment and process any needed replacements.
  • Identifies opportunities to minimize workplace injuries, accidents, and health problems and shares solutions and training resources with field technicians, supervisors and management.
  • Coordinates efforts of accident investigations, root cause analysis, internal & external safety reporting, and training & compliance requirements.
  • Provides new hire and annual safety training to ensure effective training for all employees and a high level of employee engagement.
  • Frequently visits job sites to conduct job site inspections and produces accompanying reports.
  • Assists with monitoring and analytical analysis of the company’s telematics system.
  • Prepare reports and interface with outside agencies and consultants.
  • Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local safety laws, regulations, codes, and rules for all sites.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.


Skills and Abilities


  • 4+ years of safety experience required.
  • Associates degree or higher desired, preferably in EHS discipline.
  • Advanced training or certification in safety preferred.
  • Understanding of construction industry standards.
  • Extensive knowledge of emergency preparedness.
  • Extensive knowledge of company safety policies and applicable Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent planning and organizational abilities.
  • Assertive and persuasive abilities.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Can perform job duties under stressful situations and time constraints.
  • Reliability and initiative to be able to work effectively in a fast-paced, professional team environment.
  • Ability to conduct training.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Knowledge in SharePoint desired.
  • Willingness to travel as needed.


This is a Safety Sensitive position.
