This role is part of a team that is responsible for authoring, maintaining, and implementing BIM standards and organization-wide workflows. The expectation is that this will be a hybrid position depending on business needs.

DAY IN THE LIFE:

The BIM Manager will be responsible for setting policies associated with the BIM modeler's purpose and responsibilities, providing input on policies concerning the plant piping and steel design software and ensuring that BIM policies/procedures/standards are properly implemented and maintained throughout the course of a project, identifying and assisting in creating digital assets to enhance standard libraries, and championing BIM adoption organization-wide.

As the BIM Manager, you will collaborate with project teams to coordinate design details and material BOMs to meet procurement, fabrication, and delivery milestones to support N/E's complex design projects in the heat transfer and power generation industry, work with Layout Design Coordinators to make individual project decisions and with CAD Development to make decisions related to software and tools, oversee development of BIM software and processes that improve project quality, efficiency, and facilitate communication with project teams, manage implementation of BIM-supporting software, organization-wide BIM Standards/workflows, and research of new BIM-related software and provide training on BIM workflows and design applications.

Additional responsibilities include managing resources with BIM Modelers to maintain Project Schedule and quality of work, analyzing BIM Modeler performance and BIM usage reports to identify areas where training or assistance may be required, providing ongoing coaching and performance management to build upon the team's existing strengths and identifying undesirable behaviors as opportunities for personal / professional development.

Travel up to 5%.

QUALIFICATIONS. We want the person selected for this role to be successful The following qualifications are essential to be effective in this role:

  • At least five (5) years of experience managing direct reports, preferably in a drafting group.
  • Technical, Vocational school, Junior College, Associates, or Bachelor's degree.
  • Experience with Avia E3D, Advanced Steel (Revit), or Navisworks.
  • Must be able to delegate, prioritize under multiple deadlines, highly professional, organized, and trustworthy team player. Proficiency in English, open to feedback and experience with conflict management.
  • Ability to read, write, problem solve, make quick decisions, interpret data and analyze results; effective written and verbal communication is essential.
