HITT Contracting is on the lookout for a seasoned Senior Manager of Virtual Construction to spearhead a variety of virtual construction initiatives and projects. This role is pivotal in utilizing cutting-edge Building Information Modeling (BIM) technologies and methodologies to improve project planning, coordination, and execution.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver strategic direction that aligns with organizational objectives and industry standards.
- Oversee the adoption of virtual construction techniques in project execution, including BIM coordination, clash detection, animations, and quality assurance.
- Refine and implement standard operating procedures and best practices, such as BIM Execution Plans, to ensure effective BIM coordination and animations.
- Guide a team of Associates and Managers through project assignments, fostering mentorship and professional development opportunities.
- Employ advanced BIM software and technologies to coordinate intricate virtual models of project designs, covering architectural, structural, and MEP systems.
- Effectively manage multiple concurrent projects, determining schedules, staffing, and budgets for VDC scope.
- Facilitate communication regarding coordination challenges and collaborate with clients, architects, designers, engineers, subcontractors, and project teams to manage model-based conflicts proactively.
- Collaborate closely with project teams to create 4D construction sequencing simulations based on virtual models.
- Examine construction schedules to pinpoint opportunities for optimization and risk management.
- Establish quality assurance protocols for virtual construction outputs to guarantee accuracy, completeness, and compliance with project specifications.
- Conduct regular assessments of virtual models and project documentation to ensure adherence to established standards.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline (Construction Management, Building Science, Engineering, Architecture) or equivalent experience.
- 5-8 years of hands-on experience in commercial construction, with a minimum of 5 years focused on BIM/VDC processes.
- Proficient in interpreting construction documents, shop drawings, and other design communication tools.
- Familiarity with Revit, Navisworks, SketchUp, Synchro Pro, Adobe CC, Bluebeam, P6, and Microsoft Office.
- Strong leadership and team management capabilities, with a knack for inspiring and motivating cross-functional teams.
- Demonstrated expertise in current BIM tools and VDC methodologies.
- Enthusiasm for learning and embracing new technologies.
- Active participation in relevant professional organizations.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Proven success in implementing virtual construction strategies on complex commercial projects.
