Position Overview:

We are in search of a seasoned Lead Virtual Construction Strategist to oversee a variety of virtual construction initiatives and projects from our headquarters. This role will utilize cutting-edge Building Information Modeling (BIM) technologies and practices to improve project planning, coordination, and execution, working closely with project stakeholders to enhance project results and drive innovation within the construction sector.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver strategic leadership that aligns with organizational objectives and industry standards.
  • Guide the integration of virtual construction techniques into project execution, including BIM coordination, clash detection, animations, sequencing, and quality assurance.
  • Develop and implement standard operating procedures and best practices, including BIM Execution Plans, to ensure effective BIM coordination and animations.
  • Lead a team of Associates and Managers through project tasks, offering mentorship and opportunities for professional development.
  • Employ advanced BIM software and technologies to coordinate detailed virtual models of project designs, encompassing architectural, structural, and MEP systems.
  • Effectively manage multiple projects simultaneously, determining schedules, staffing, and budgets for VDC scope.
  • Communicate coordination challenges and collaborate with clients, architects, designers, engineers, subcontractors, and HITT project teams to cultivate a cooperative environment and proactively address model-based conflicts.
  • Work alongside project teams to create 4D construction sequencing simulations based on virtual models.
  • Evaluate construction schedules to identify opportunities for optimization and risk management.
  • Establish quality control measures for virtual construction deliverables to ensure precision, completeness, and compliance with project specifications.
  • Conduct regular assessments of virtual models and project documentation to confirm adherence to established standards.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (Construction Management, Building Science, Engineering, Architecture) or equivalent experience.
  • 5-8 years of hands-on experience in commercial construction, with a minimum of 5 years focused on BIM/VDC processes.
  • Strong understanding of construction documents, shop drawings, and other design communication tools.
  • Proficient in Revit, Navisworks, SketchUp, Synchro Pro, Adobe CC, Bluebeam, P6, and Microsoft Office.
  • Exceptional leadership and team management abilities, with a talent for inspiring and motivating cross-functional teams.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of current BIM tools and VDC methodologies.
  • Enthusiasm for learning and embracing new technologies.
  • Active involvement in relevant professional organizations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven success in implementing virtual construction strategies on complex commercial projects.
