The EHS Manager plays a crucial role in ensuring the safety and well-being of employees, compliance with regulations, and the sustainability of the environment within the organization. They are responsible for developing, implementing, and managing environmental, health, and safety programs to ensure a safe and healthy work environment for all employees.
Key responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain health, safety, and environmental management systems.
  • Conduct risk assessments and implement effective risk management strategies.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations and standards.
  • Coordinate safety training programs for employees and management teams.
  • Manage emergency response protocols and conduct regular drills.
  • Investigate and report incidents, injuries, and near misses, and implement corrective actions.
  • Develop and maintain safety policies, procedures, and guidelines.
  • Lead safety and environmental audits, inspections, and assessments.
  • Monitor and analyze KPIs to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve environmental sustainability goals.
  • Develop and manage waste and environmental management programs.
  • Provide guidance and support to management on health, safety, and environmental matters.
  • Develop and manage the EHS budget and allocate resources effectively.
  • Stay abreast of industry developments and regulatory changes.
  • Lead and mentor EHS staff.

Required qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Management, or related field.
  • Professional certification such as Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in EHS management or related roles.
  • Strong understanding of environmental regulations and requirements.
  • Proven track record of developing and managing EHS programs and initiatives.
  • Experience in conducting risk assessments and implementing risk management strategies.
  • Excellent knowledge of emergency response planning and implementation.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to influence and drive change at all levels of the organization.
  • Exceptional problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Proficient in data analysis and interpretation.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively.
  • Knowledge of environmental sustainability practices and principles.
  • Proficiency in EHS management software and tools.
  • Experience in leading and developing EHS teams.
