Cogir Senior Living is hiring an energetic, experienced, and compassionate Fitness Director in our vibrant retirement community Cogir at the Quarry.

Located in the heart of Vancouver, we have established an outstanding reputation over our 16 years of operation. From our on-site movie theater to our full calendar of activities like craft and cooking classes, and our gym, our residents have plenty to do and experience. Cogir at the Quarry has set the standard for what an excellent retirement community should feel like.

Our Fitness Director supports the development and implementation of a revenue-based, one-on-one personal training program with residents and covers fitness activities where required. They will build and promote a one-on-one fitness program for all participating residents in the different areas of the community- Independent Living, Assisted Living, Enhanced Care, and Memory Care.

The schedule is Monday to Friday, Day Shift.

What will you do as the Fitness Director?

  • Engage resident's one-on-one, and in small and large group settings.
  • Be creative in your programming to promote participation through individual or group training.
  • Encourage resident participation in fitness activities and document outcomes when required.
  • Communicate with caregivers to coordinate residents arriving for one-on-one sessions on time.
  • Interact with the family members to facilitate participation in the one-on-one program where appropriate.
  • Review goals and progress notes.
  • Assist the fitness director where needed with greeting new residents, completing required paperwork, special events, and covering vacations within the budget limits.

If you have these qualifications, we'd love to chat:

  • Positive team player attitude and love working with people
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Strong understanding of fitness needs and processes.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills, patience, and compassion for our residents.
  • A minimum of 6 months of relevant experience as a fitness instructor is required, experience with seniors is a plus.
  • Experience with memory care is a plus.
  • Able to work independently and follow scheduled plans.
  • Ability to maintain composure in stressful situations and emergencies, and always treat our residents with respect and dignity.
  • Previous experience working in Independent Living (IL), Assisted Living (AL), Memory Care (MC), or Senior Living experience is a plus
