The Supervising Clinician provides clinical and administrative supervision for all residential clinicians working in our residential program. The Residential Supervising Clinician is the direct clinical support for the team of clinicians providing screenings, evaluations, and individual and family treatments, and provides professional development support. The Supervisor works collaboratively with staff, families, and stakeholders to ensure the best quality care for kids on our campus and in residential care. This position will be part of a team providing clinical coverage on an on-call schedule and is supervised by the Sr. Clinical Dr. of Residential Programs.

Essential Duties of Clinical Supervisor

Key duties of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Collaborates with interdisciplinary team members, parents, and caregivers to ensure quality mental health services are provided to the clients
  • Provides oversight of clinical work for assigned clinicians; monitors and evaluates clinical and administrative performance; is responsible for the quality of clinical care for cases supervised
  • Provides clinical supervision and coaching weekly for clinical staff
  • Responsible for leading/and assisting at least one group supervision per week
  • Supports the implementation of clinically appropriate treatment plans and all related documentation for client records in the electronic health record
  • Provides evaluations and psychotherapy to clients and their families using individual, group, and family intervention as well as other agency approved evidenced-based treatment modalities in the community
  • Promotes integrated, person-centered care
  • Assists the Senior Director with program development in order to strengthen interventions provided to children and families
  • Supports evaluation of program services to enhance client outcomes and acts as a positive change agent to implement clinical initiatives to increase quality client care
  • Serves as on-call Supervising Clinician as scheduled on a rotating basis
  • Maintains knowledge of OCFS and A29i regulations and standards to ensure service delivery remains in compliance
  • Supports overall strategic plan of the organization
  • Ability to adhere to our organization’s core values and commitments

Essential Qualifications of Clinical Supervisor

Key qualifications include:

  • Licensed (LCSW, LCSW-R, Ph.D or Psy.D) with a current professional license in NYS required
  • Must have at least (4) four years of clinical experience including at least (1) year of supervisory and administrative experience
  • Relevant clinical experience with children, adolescent and families
  • Knowledge of and experience with multiple individual and family-focused modalities and evidence-based Interventions
  • Strong computer skills, with knowledge of electronic health record system
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to access and utilize ADP app on smartphone or other device for access to agency programs

Physical/Travel Requirements of Clinical Supervisor

  • Candidates who are successfully hired, must participate in our Therapeutic Crisis Intervention training which concludes with a written and verbal test, and you will be evaluated on conducting a proper physical restraint.

Must have ability to reach, walk, sit for long periods of time, climb stairs, bend, lift up to 20lbs, and able to travel. Driver’s license required.
