Job Description:
As a Financial Operations Director, you will provide strategic leadership and oversight of financial operations, ensuring efficiency, compliance, and optimal performance across finance functions within the organization. You will manage financial planning, budgeting, accounting, reporting, and treasury functions, collaborating closely with senior management, department heads, and external stakeholders to achieve financial goals and objectives. Your role involves driving process improvements, implementing financial controls, and fostering a culture of accountability and operational excellence within the finance department.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Financial Management and Planning:
- Develop and oversee financial strategies, annual budgets, and long-term financial plans aligned with organizational goals and objectives.
- Monitor financial performance, analyze variances, and provide strategic recommendations to senior management for cost optimization and revenue enhancement.
- Conduct financial forecasting, cash flow analysis, and scenario planning to support decision-making and resource allocation.
Financial Reporting and Compliance:
- Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting, including monthly financial statements, variance analysis, and management reports for senior management and stakeholders.
- Maintain compliance with regulatory requirements, accounting standards (e.g., GAAP/IFRS), and internal policies, implementing controls to mitigate financial risks.
- Coordinate external audits, tax filings, and financial reviews, liaising with auditors, legal advisors, and regulatory authorities as required.
Operational Efficiency and Process Improvement:
- Evaluate and streamline finance processes, systems, and workflows to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and scalability.
- Implement financial controls, policies, and procedures to safeguard assets, optimize resource utilization, and mitigate operational risks.
- Lead initiatives for automation, digital transformation, and integration of financial systems to support business growth and operational excellence.
Treasury and Cash Management:
- Manage cash flow forecasting, liquidity management, and working capital optimization to ensure adequate funding for operations and strategic initiatives.
- Oversee banking relationships, credit facilities, and investment strategies, negotiating terms and optimizing financial instruments to maximize returns and minimize costs.
- Monitor foreign exchange exposure, interest rate risks, and hedging strategies to mitigate financial volatility and enhance financial stability.
Leadership and Team Development:
- Provide leadership, mentorship, and development opportunities to finance team members, fostering a high-performance culture and professional growth.
- Promote collaboration, cross-functional communication, and knowledge sharing across departments to support organizational objectives and initiatives.
- Champion continuous improvement initiatives, employee engagement programs, and diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts within the finance department.
Skills Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field (Master's degree and CPA/CFA preferred).
- Proven experience as a Financial Operations Director, Finance Manager, or Senior Finance Leader with 8+ years of progressive experience in financial management and operations.
- Strong financial acumen with a deep understanding of financial planning, budgeting, accounting principles, and regulatory compliance.
- Experience in strategic financial analysis, forecasting, and financial modeling to support decision-making and business planning.
- Proficiency in financial management systems (ERP), reporting tools, and advanced Excel skills; familiarity with financial consolidation and business intelligence tools is advantageous.
- Excellent leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
- Strategic thinker with strong analytical skills, problem-solving abilities, and attention to detail in financial analysis and operational management.
