Summary

Swanson is seeking a passionate, dynamic and experienced Social Media leader to transform and own strategy and management of our organic and paid social programs. This talented individual will have a passion for storytelling, deep understanding of social platforms, proven record of creating impactful content and bias for quick action. This role offers a rare and exciting opportunity for the right person to join the Swanson team to significantly define and shape our brand’s social presence and connect with consumers in meaningful ways.

 

Essential Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive organic and paid social media strategy aligned with brand objectives, full funnel marketing approach and target audience insights
  • Manage day-to-day social media channels including calendar creation, content posting and community management while preserving brand voice and aesthetic as appropriate
  • Support Swanson’s content strategy across social platforms by sourcing and/or creating compelling visuals, video and written copy for both organic and paid social platforms (Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, TikTok, LinkedIn and Pinterest)
  • Budget, create, define audiences and execute paid social media campaigns in cooperation with internal partners and external agencies
  • Develop and report on KPIs that measure success of campaigns and make data-driven decisions around program/platform optimization
  • Monitor social media trends, VMS category trends, competitor activities and social listening tools to inspire content creation, engage consumers, grow following and drive revenue
  • Stay up-to-date with best practices, emerging trends, and new features on social media platforms, and recommend innovative approaches to inform new experiments and testing ideas
  • Manage external agencies, contractors and influence indirect reports; provide leadership and development to internal team members
  • Support other new initiatives as assigned or as opportunities arise

 

Qualifications

  • Drive to creatively transform all of Swanson’s social platforms to drive brand growth
  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, or a related field
  • 5+ years of proven experience in social media management and strategic planning
  • Experience managing 3rd party agencies/partners
  • Deep understanding of social media platforms, algorithms, and trends
  • Creative thinker with a passion and proven talent for storytelling and visual communication
  • An appetite for learning and experimentation
  • Budget management/oversight and forecasting
  • Ability to interpret data and take action based on insights
  • Proficiency in social media management tools, analytics platforms, and content creation/editing software
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Team player with strong collaboration and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated ability to adapt to changing priorities and pivot strategies as needed

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with influencers
  • Knowledge of paid social advertising strategies and tactics
  • Familiarity with e-commerce and digital marketing principles
  • Previous experience in content creation
