Survey Project Manager

The Survey Project Manager is responsible for directing staff and performing duties associated with survey project tasks, and for managing surveying tasks for multiple projects.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Work with Project Surveyors and the Director of Surveying to organize field schedules, prepare worksheets and points, and manage field personnel.
  • Perform complex survey work, including boundary, topographic, and ALTA surveys, playing a crucial role in the success of our projects. Collaborate with the Director of Surveying, Project Surveyors, Engineers, and other stakeholders to understand survey requirements and objectives.
  • Read and interpret construction plans, plans, and worksheets.
  • Perform high-level research online for title documents, and review title commitments for initial and final surveys.
  • Maintain records of office documents and final surveys and completed fieldwork.
  • Create legal descriptions and exhibits in multiple states.
  • Take an active approach to as-builts, working with reviewers, contractors, engineers, and surveyors.
  • Perform duties of a Lead Field Technician as needed, including operation and maintenance of survey equipment, including but not limited to robotic total stations, base and rover GPS, data collectors, and software.
  • Stay updated on industry advancements, best practices, and regulations related to surveying techniques and technology.
  • Establish and maintain record keeping of office documents, final surveys, and completed fieldwork.
  • Assist and direct the Project Surveyor in organizing field schedules and preparing worksheets and points.
  • Assist in direct surveying with purchase decisions on equipment, software, and staff management.

Qualifications:

  • Associate degree or technical schooling in surveying or a related field and professional licensure is preferred, but not required.
  • Proficiency in surveying field software and experience with financials.
  • Hands-on experience with surveying instruments and equipment
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Familiarity with relevant regulations and standards governing survey practices
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to travel throughout the state of Florida
