About The Role:
As a Survey Operations Manager, you will oversee the comprehensive surveying protocols for significant projects and specific clients within a designated area.
Key Responsibilities:
- Direct and coordinate surveying operations and methodologies, including managing survey personnel and subcontractors to ensure projects are executed accurately to meet or exceed specifications.
- Plan and oversee the execution of land surveys and related documentation, ensuring all surveys are signed and sealed appropriately.
- Interpret field notes to produce certified boundary surveys, topographic surveys, right-of-way control surveys, and other related documents, while processing and verifying the accuracy of collected data.
- Supervise assigned survey field crews, ensuring quality control and adherence to survey methodologies, while gathering all necessary information to fulfill survey requirements.
- Assist the Director and Vice President of Surveying with business development initiatives, client relations, and proposal preparation.
- Monitor project progress while liaising with clients on technical matters.
- Prepare and maintain documentation related to project progress, including reports, letters, and files.
- Schedule and procure survey materials and equipment to ensure timely project completion.
- Analyze and interpret technical data and property descriptions for surveying or related operations.
- Provide expert testimony in court cases related to land boundaries and surveying.
- Utilize Civil3D, Trimble Business Center, and other relevant software to complete projects effectively.
- Support and uphold Pickett's safety initiatives to ensure a secure work environment.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Surveying, Geomatics, or equivalent experience in a surveying or civil engineering environment (required).
- Over 10 years of experience in a leadership role overseeing all aspects of surveying and mapping (required).
- Possession of a Professional Surveyor and Mapper license (PSM or PLS) (required).
- A valid driver's license and a driving record acceptable to our company insurance provider (required).
- Commitment to working safely and adhering to safety regulations at all times.
- Proficiency in the latest version of Civil3D and other surveying and mapping software.
- Skilled in operating and calibrating various survey instruments, including GPS equipment, levels, and robotic total stations with electronic data capabilities.
- Strong mathematical skills, particularly in Geometry and Trigonometry.
- Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Google Earth, Trimble Business Center, GIS, and GPS technologies.
- Thorough understanding of surveying and mapping principles, practices, standards, procedures, and project management.
- Considerable knowledge of photogrammetric mapping, LiDAR, and other remote sensing techniques.
- Highly organized with excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- Able to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines while functioning both independently and as part of a team.
- Willingness to travel as necessary.
