About Our Client: Our client, a renowned healthcare provider, is seeking an Outpatient Nursing Services Manager (OPNS) to join their dedicated team. With a commitment to delivering high-quality healthcare close to home, they operate a 17-bed not-for-profit Critical Access Hospital and serve as a leading healthcare provider in southeastern Utah.

Role Summary: This working manager position involves overseeing a small team (2-3 employees) and managing the outpatient nursing services program. Responsibilities include quality control, compliance, financial management, outreach marketing, and clinical oversight. Additionally, the role provides administrative on-call support across all hospital departments as part of the nursing leadership team. The ideal candidate is passionate about patient care and adept at handling administrative duties.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain departmental policies and procedures.

  • Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations related to outpatient infusion and nursing treatments.

  • Promote outpatient treatment and build relationships with providers to enhance referrals.

  • Develop programs for outpatient nursing services, including Oncology, Infusion, and Wound Care.

  • Stay current with best practices in Oncology, Infusion, and Wound Care nursing, ensuring staff training.

  • Manage prior authorization, coding, and billing procedures for the department.

  • Educate patients and families on care plans and post-discharge programs.

  • Coordinate orientation and on-boarding for new hires, and support ongoing education within the department.

  • Maintain financial oversight, including monthly financials and annual budget planning.

  • Exhibit flexibility and willingness to accept additional responsibilities as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2 years of Oncology Nursing experience

  • ONS certification

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited school

  • RN licensure in the State of Utah

  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with at least 3 years of recent RN experience

  • Ability to build and lead a cohesive work unit effectively and positively

  • Experience with electronic health records

  • Prior supervisory or leadership experience in a medical or community setting

  • Professional handling of sensitive information and maintaining confidentiality

  • Capacity to manage stressful situations calmly and maturely

Desired Qualifications:

  • Certified Wound Care Nurse

  • Infusion certification
