Job DescriptionJob Description

The Winery is looking for two full-time Cellar Technician to assist the production team with crush operations, cellar work, and bottling. This is an excellent opportunity for a luxury brand wine making experience.

Daily tasks include, but are not limited to:

- Support the production team year-round throughout crush, fermentation, aging, blending and bottling.
- Complete all barrel work, including stacking, washing, filing and storage maintenance.
- Sampling pulling.
- Perform monthly sulfur additions and topping of barrels.
- Forklift operations, including full grape bin pallets, empty and full barrels, case goods and winery equipment
- Perform a variety of harvest tasks, including sorting line and crush equipment operations, pump- overs, punch-downs, basket press operations.
- Monitor fermentation - taking Brix & temperatures with DMA, record and track data.
- Perform additions and inoculations.
- Assist in bottling preparations and work on bottling line.
- General and frequent sanitation, cleaning and maintenance of cellar equipment and facility.
- Understand and complete work orders efficiently.
- Inform production team if problems, concerns or safety issues arise.
- Use Innovint platform to read and submit work orders.
- Maintain high-quality wine making standards.
- Understanding of wine progression and abnormal occurrences, such as VA, TCA, re-fermentation, etc.
- Maintain cellar and winery equipment

Requirements:

- Minimum 1-5 years of experience in wine production/cellar work
- Current Forklift Operator certification
- Must be fully available September through December for Harvest and for few bottling runs throughout the summer
- Must be flexible to work overtime and on weekends during peak harvest times, 6-7 days/week, 10+ hours/day
- Ability to understand, communicate and follow directions in English, both verbally and written
- Must be able to work safely around equipment, electrical outlets and chemicals
- The individual selected for this position must be reliable and have a good work ethic and work effectively in a team/crew environment
- Valid CA Drivers license
- Legal right to work in the USA


Physical requirements:


- Ability to lift 60 lbs., including roll, move, lift empty wine barrels and move heavy machinery

- Ability to stand for extended periods of time, walk, kneel, climb ladders

- Ability to work in various environments: indoor, outdoor, hot, cold, dry, wet

- Ability to perform repetitive hand motions for multiple hours
