Carpenter's Helper

Dreammaker Bath & Kitchen in Moorsetown, NJ is seeking a Carpenter's Helper to join our team This position offers competitive pay of $18-$25 / hr depending on experience.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Tool Management: Ensure possession of basic tools required to perform tasks.
• Job Schedule: Review job schedule provided by the lead carpenter.
• Documentation: Complete and submit daily logs, time cards, and photos.
• Work Orders: Receive and follow work orders from the lead carpenter.
• Punctuality: Arrive onsite at the prearranged time.
• Meetings: Attend daily or weekly meetings at the office to plan work.
• Customer Interaction: Treat all property owners and their homes with courtesy and respect at all times when onsite.
• Career Progression: Demonstrate competency in various job phases to progress to the position of Lead Carpenter.
• Job Preparation and Cleanup:
  • Prepare jobs and clean up afterward.
  • Place drop cloths on the floor and protective covers on furniture.
  • Move furniture when necessary.
  • Install dust barriers.
  • Set up tools and materials required for daily tasks.
  • Break down jobs at the end of the day (put away tools, clean up).
• Job Completion: Complete every job as per specifications unless an approved Change Order has been priced and signed.
• Site Cleanup: Clean up the job site at the end of each day and when the scope of work has been completed. Assist the Lead Carpenter in securing a signed certificate of satisfaction from the property owner if present.
• Safety: Report any accidents or job mishaps to the Lead Carpenter immediately.
• Appearance: Maintain a clean appearance and wear DM-approved clothing.
• Start Time: Starting time is usually 7:30 am but may vary based on the property owner's needs.
• Shop/Warehouse Tasks: Assist with shop and warehouse tasks.
• Vehicle Maintenance: Keep work vehicles clean and stocked with necessary materials.
• Warranty Work: Conduct warranty work as needed.
• Purchases: Submit receipts for company purchases.
• Code of Values: Follow the DreamMaker Code of Values.
• Other Duties: Perform other duties as requested.

Education and Experience:

• Minimum Education: High School degree.
• Construction Experience: Minimum of two years of construction experience.
• Residential Trade Experience: Experience working with residential trade partners (plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, countertops, drywall, tile, and flooring).
• Construction Knowledge: Understanding of construction basics.
• Computer Skills: Basic skills in MS Office applications and smartphone apps.
