As the Communications Manager of Woodhaven, you will be an integral part of the development team working to engage and educate audiences about intellectual and developmental disabilities along with neurodivergence.
Woodhaven is currently reinvesting in our marketing efforts and are seeking talented professionals with builder mentalities and growth mindsets to join our team. We have recently restructured our marketing team so this is a new position, and you will be working closely with our development team and external partners to develop project workplans to meet our communication goals.
If you’re up for the challenge of figuring how to reach target audiences about the important work of Woodhaven, we want you to be part of our development team. You will oversee the implementation of all our marketing efforts, from brand awareness campaigns and new strategic partnerships to digital outreach. You will think about how the organization should introduce itself to new audiences and strengthen our connections with our existing supporters, through marketing collateral, at events, and efforts such as our annual stakeholder fundraisers, program awareness, and major gift campaigns. You will strategize how to reach decision makers, potential advocates, and new supporters. You will work with our creative team of vendors to help them act as a brand guardian, ensuring we have messaging and brand consistency across assets.
This is a full-time position reporting to the Chief Development Officer. This is a flexible, hybrid position.
Primary Responsibilities:
· Works with internal teams and external vendors to develop, implement and evaluate multi-channel digital marketing, promotional and fundraising activities; uses analytics and trends to inform decision making; manages multi-channel advertising, social media, and content marketing.
- Assists in ensuring that Woodhaven has the right mix of assets, channels, and tactics to build awareness and support among target audiences.
- Creates digital collateral, including brochures, newsletters, case for support, annual reports, mailings, advertisements, event programs and other promotional material to maximize reach and engagement; manages the production and scheduling to ensure timely distribution and to test the effectiveness of each communication activity.
- Proposes and implements initiatives and solutions to achieve identified programming, fundraising goals, and brand-awareness objectives; identifies and tracks key performance indicators.
- Serves as team lead for standard and special digital marketing campaigns; assists with special events, corporate partnerships, and cause-marketing arrangements.
- Uses a data-driven strategic approach to update website content to encourage audience engagement; reports on key performance metrics, including website traffic and conversions, to effectively evaluate and refine marketing tactics; implements enhancement initiatives to maximize functionality and usability of Woodhaven’s website.
- Manages relationships with external vendors, web developers, videographers, graphic designers and pssional photographers.
- Serves as brand ambassador to ensure compliance and integration of messaging with all other Woodhaven communication channels and across the organization.
- Supports major gifts, campaigns, fundraising, communications, and special events; may handle public speaking appearances, work at events, or attend activities as a Woodhaven representative.
SKILLS REQUIRED
Qualifications:
- An Associate degree is required; A Bachelor’s degree, in communications, marketing, social/digital communications or related field preferred. Comparable education and experience will be considered.
- 5-7 years of marketing experience, with demonstrated success running with print, and digital publishing, social media platforms and marketing campaigns for a nonprofit organization and/or consumer brand.
- Familiarity with digital platforms and solid advertising skills. Experience with digital, print, and broadcast advertising campaigns. In addition to demonstrated digital experience with Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube, possess the ability to navigate Facebook ads manager and associated digital advertising tracking implementations. Experience sending and managing campaigns via email platforms such as MailChimp and familiarity with website content management systems and digital management tools like Tweetdeck, Hootsuite, etc. Additionally, candidate needs to be eager to dive into the analytics to monitor engagement to guide and expand the reach of Woodhaven.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
· Digital marketing/marketing communications: Proven track record in digital marketing, including content creation for messaging and promotion. Considerable knowledge of digital marketing analytics and search engine optimization(SEO). Skill in tracking key performance indicators and making data-driven recommendations. Skill in managing a website, developing and implementing e-mail fundraising campaigns, and using social media platforms. Skill in leveraging publicity to drive fundraising results; proven skill in promoting fundraising events.
- Creative and strategic thinker. loves thinking through strategies of how to reach people and move them to action, and creative in considering new approaches.
- Knowledge of supporter, advocate, and donor pipeline. Ensure all pipeline marketing campaigns are setup to successfully measure and evaluate core marketing KPIs.
- Strong writer, willing to play an integral role in crafting messages that engage target audiences and ensure that materials – from web, to social, to email, to ads – adhere to the overarching narrative.
· Writing: Excellent command of the English language. Outstanding grammar and written communications skills. Demonstrated ability to develop and execute marketing plans on schedule and write concisely and efficiently to promote the mission of Woodhaven.
· Computer: Excellent knowledge and skill in using Microsoft Office Suite, InDesign, Adobe Design Suite, and Google analytics. Knowledge of and skill in using Customer Relations Management software or other relational database systems.
· Time management/Organizational skills: Skill in working on multiple projects at a time under tight deadlines and project management overall. Excellent attention to detail and efficient time manager with ability to understand and execute complex instructions.
· Interpersonal/Communications: Energetic, enthusiastic, rapport-building people person with skill in building and sustaining relationships; a persuasive writer.
