Job DescriptionJob Description

Dean’s Professional Services is now hiring a qualified, patient-care-focusedSterile Processing Techto work in aHospital Facility inHouston, Texas.Must have current Sterile Tech certification and at least 4 years of hospital work experience.

TheSterile Processing Techis responsible for processing decontaminated medical devices as they are received, according to established priorities, medical device IFUs, and best practices.


Job Responsibilities:

  • Receives instruments from the decontamination area and processes appropriately.
  • Performs physical and environmental duties as designated on a routine daily basis, including but not limited to cleaning workspace/instrument room/cabinets, emptying biohazards waste, monitoring sterilizers, and checking environmental monitors.
  • Completes sterilization processes.
  • Performs high-level disinfection.
  • Performs other duties as assigned, including other essential instrument room duties.


Job Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent – Required
  • Required - CRCST - Cert-Cert Reg Cent Ser TECH International Association of Healthcare Central
  • Service Material Management OrCertified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician issued by The Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution
  • 4 years experience in a hospital Sterile Processing – Required
  • Completion of a Sterile Processing Technician course. – Required
  • Knowledge of a wide variety of instruments used in the operating room as well as throughout the hospital.
  • Ability to operate all sterilization and processing equipment, prioritize and organize the department and assignments, and work independently and as a team.


Job Details:

  • Schedule: Monday - Friday 2:30 pm - 11:00 pm with rotating weekends (employee will rotate between 4 Sterile processing departments)
  • Starting at $24/hr. (Based on experience)
  • Full benefits – healthcare, dental, vision, 401k program.
  • Temp-to-Hire opportunity.
