Pillar & Peacock, an esteemed design firm renowned for its innovative approach to residential interiors, is actively seeking an Interior Designer to join our dynamic team. Collaborating closely with our Principals and seasoned Senior Designers, you will play a pivotal role in bringing design visions to life and contributing to the seamless operation of our firm. We are in search of a conscientious, imaginative, and meticulous individual with a minimum of 2 years' hands-on experience in residential interior design. Above all, we are looking for a candidate whose passion for interior design is evident in every aspect of their work. Responsibilities & Duties

  • Efficiently produce & compile a set of construction documents
  • Communicate with contractors, clients & vendors with Senior Designer approval
  • Possess thorough knowledge of FF&E for residential design
  • Specify appropriate materials and finishes for projects
  • Possess thorough knowledge of Kitchen and Bath Design & Codes
  • Possess knowledge of construction standards
  • Create and manage orders through Design Manager
  • Review shop drawings and submittals
  • Analyze clients’ needs and properly execute a design
  • Communicate/present ideas to a client with Senior Designer approval
  • Integrate creativity with functionality and communicate those ideas via drawings, presentations, and verbal communication

 

 Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Interior Design
  • Intermediate drafting skills in AutoCAD
  • Two + years of experience in Residential Interior Design
  • Detail oriented and passionate about design.
  • Proficient in Adobe Suite, especially InDesign
  • Microsoft Office Suite
  • Mac utilization
  • Familiar with Sketchup
  • Excellent verbal & written abilities


Working Conditions

  • Full Time position (40 hours) per week
  • Located in Richmond, VA
  • Must have working vehicle to travel to project sites and between offices
  • Must feel comfortable working interactively with teammates and industry partners of our three offices located in Virginia and Alabama
  • Some travel will be required
