Rate ranges from $26.43 to $29.45 per hour based on experience

2nd Shift (3:00 PM - 11:30 PM) or 3rd Shift -(11:00 PM - 7:30 AM)


Trans-Bridge Lines, Inc., a family-run business celebrating its 83rd year, is currently seeking a full-time experienced mechanic. The company is accepting applicants from those with a career in the industry, or those who have been a mechanic and would like to get into the busing industry.

Trans-Bridge Lines seeks individuals who possess a positive attitude, accepts scheduling challenges, and takes pride in their work.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Perform various mechanical repairs on the Trans-Bridge Lines buses, support vehicles, and company cars.

  • Perform other duties/responsibilities as assigned

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Ability to read and understand basics of shop and service manuals for company vehicles.
  • Punctual to work.
  • Must be able to provide own tools.
  • Understand union environment and the need to be flexible due to seniority and business needs.
  • Able and willing to work 2nd shift (3:00 PM - 11:30 PM) or 3rd shift (11:00 PM - 7:30 AM) to start. Shift may vary based on seniority and business need.

Education and Experience:

  • Must have a valid driver's license.
  • Diesel Mechanic experience strongly preferred.
  • Diagnostic equipment knowledge preferred.
  • CDL license preferred (required for 1st and 2nd Class Mechanic).
  • Mobile Air Conditioning (MAC) certification preferred
  • PA and/or NJ State inspection license preferred

Physical Requirements:

  • Must pass drug and alcohol screenings and DOT physical exam.
  • Be able to lift in excess of 75 pounds, push, and pull in excess of 100 pounds.
  • Be able to stand, bend, squat, twist, turn and reach.
  • Be able to have full use of fingers and hands.
  • Must be open to shift work.
  • Be able to work holidays and weekends when needed.
