Work You’ll Do

As World Trade Center Utah’s Director of Grants | STEP Project Director, you will lead the development and execution of all grant programs. In order to do this, you will work to:

  • Formulate and execute policies, objectives, and strategies for all WTC Utah grants [e.g., State Trade Expansion Program (STEP), Rural Business Development Grant (RBDG), Manufacturing Extension Partnership Center (MEP)]
  • Oversee and monitor compliance, and coordinate administration of grant awards for small and medium-sized businesses to expand internationally
  • Track and manage all compliance requirements and submit requisite quarterly reporting for all grants
  • Identify grant opportunities that align with the mission and financial needs of WTC Utah
  • Prepare grant proposals/applications and execute related agreements
  • Identify and develop strategies to optimize the grant administration process
  • Connect with and facilitate service, grant, and program delivery to high-priority businesses, including those in rural and multicultural communities as well as those that are women- and veteran-owned
  • Manage the Grant Review Selection Committee process for scoring grant applications
  • Prepare and submit all reports to our federal and state partners and other organizations
  • Work with the finance team to deliver awards to grant recipients in a timely manner
  • Prepare and maintain updated budget plans and allocation of the grants
  • Maintain records for all grant related activities in Salesforce environment
  • Participate in international trade shows for Utah businesses to increase exporting activities
  • Support WTC Utah organization by helping with events, Governor-led trade mission preparation, and other additional items as needed

Qualifications

  • Excellent project management skills with experience in managing and supervising administrative projects
  • Experience with financial management including developing and monitoring budgets and financial reporting
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong command over written and verbal communication
  • Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills
  • Good understanding of the organization's overall business and its objectives
  • Ability to perform in cross-functional team approach and job responsibilities
  • A multi-tasker with strong ability to work under pressure
  • Ability to prioritize work, meet deadlines, and produce quality results on time with significant attention to details
  • Proficient in using computers and office software applications including spreadsheets and databases
  • Minimum educational qualification is a bachelor's degree. A master's degree in business or other related field is preferred.
  • Experience administering large grants is preferred

Who you will report to

  • You will report directly to the MD of International Programs and/or our Chief Financial Officer who will set organizational goals and direct the overall strategy of the division.
  • Your success will be measured based on your ability to professionally bring in grant funds and effectively manage all aspects of the process from application to reporting and compliance.
