WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING:

You will assist with providing leadership, expertise, and mentorship to the Survey Line of Business while nurturing client relationships and ensuring overall satisfaction within the business unit. You will be responsible for the successful execution of technical excellence within the Survey Line of Business by developing, implementing, analyzing, and training employees on standard operating procedures, work flows, QAQC.

Once selected to join our team, you will:

  • Assist in organically growing the size and strength of the Dunaway Survey Line of Business team through internal and external education, recruiting, and certification programs.
  • Provide leadership on research and development for technological advancements to be used by the Survey Line of Business.
  • Lead the training and mentorship of the Survey Line of Business to foster a culture of employee development and high performance.
  • Provide expert advice to the Survey Line of Business on proper boundary surveying methods, with a focus on higher profile and difficult boundary projects.
  • Maintain an approximate 30% target billable utilization rate through active involvement on various Survey Line of Business projects (subject to variation throughout the year).
  • Continue active involvement in the surveying industry: TBPELS, NCEES, NSPS, TSPS, and academic programs.
  • Participate in speaking engagements, such as, but not limited to, surveying conventions, International Right-of-Way Association, Oil & Gas Association, etc.
  • Publish works through various outlets.
  • Cultivate client relationships to support the Line of Business growth initiatives.
  • Lead in the preparation and review of RFQ’s, ensuring alignment with business goals and the team’s technical competencies.
  • Pursue surveying prospects in Texas and Oklahoma relevant to your area of expertise.
  • Continue to provide expert consultation on high-profile boundary projects.

KEY QUALIFICATIONS:

KNOWLEDGE:

  • In-depth understanding of the land surveying industry and related disciplines.
  • Strong knowledge of company processes, standards, and industry trends.
  • Advanced ability to implement technological innovations that add to the strength and profitability of the company.
  • Familiarity with Dunaway CAD and Survey standards.

SKILLS:

  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong negotiation abilities and strategic planning capabilities.
  • Proficiency in leadership, team management, and decision-making.
  • Demonstrated track record in financially successful implementation of new technological tools and innovative strategies within the Land Surveying industry.

EXPERIENCE:

  • 20+ years of experience in land surveying.
  • 10+ years of project execution experience, including financial analysis.
  • 10+ years of client management experience.
  • 4-6 years of experience in a supervisory role.

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION:

  • Master’s Degree in Land Surveying, Geomatics, Geosciences, or related field; or equivalent experience.
  • Registered Professional Land Surveyor (RPLS) license in the state of Texas.
  • Licensed State Land Surveyor (LSLS) in the state of Texas.
