  • This role is onsite in Milwaukie, OR.

We are assisting our client find a detail-oriented Accounting Clerk to join their dynamic and growing team permanently. The ideal candidate will support their financial operations by managing various accounting and bookkeeping tasks, ensuring accuracy and compliance with the financial policies. This role requires a keen eye for detail, strong organizational skills, and a hands-on approach to managing financial records and reports.

Responsibilities:

  • Office Management: Oversee general office operations, shipping and receiving, processing checks, managing office supplies, contacting, and coordinating service work or repairs when needed, and ensuring that the office runs smoothly and efficiently.
  • Data Entry: Perform data entry tasks with a high level of accuracy and efficiency. Ensure all financial data is correctly captured in our systems.
  • Update of Excel Reports: Maintain and update Excel reports for internal tracking and analysis. Ensure that data is accurate and provides the necessary insights for decision-making.
  • Creation of Projects: Assist in setting up new projects in our customer database ensuring all required documents and important details are captured from the start.
  • Ordering and Invoicing Projects: Manage the process of ordering products or services for projects. Generate, send, and track invoices, ensuring they are accurate, reflect project details, and are paid in a timely manner.
  • Review and Auditing of Vendor Bills: Examine bills received from vendors and carriers for accuracy, ensure that charges are correct, and services or products were received as expected. Work closely with departments to resolve discrepancies and ensure timely payments.
  • QuickBooks Entries: Perform entry, management, and auditing tasks within QuickBooks to ensure accurate and up-to-date financial records. Assist in the preparation of financial reports and analyses.
  • Commission Management: enter date for commissions tracking and calculation. Calculate commissions based on predefined criteria, manage commission statements, and ensure accurate and timely payments.

Qualifications:

  • Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, OR 3+ Years experience in accounting/bookkeeping.
  • Proven experience in bookkeeping, accounting, or a similar role.
  • Thorough understanding of GAAP and proficiency in QuickBooks, Excel, other business software.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and switch from one task to another effectively.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work well on a small team.
