Purpose of Accounts Payable Clerk

The Accounts Payable Clerk is responsible for processing invoices, managing vendor accounts, reconciling vendor statements, and ensuring prompt payment to vendors. This position will also support the Full Charge Bookkeeper and perform various other accounting tasks as needed.

Position Responsibilities

1. Vendor Management

Receive and verify invoices and requisitions

Process invoices for payment

Reconcile processed work by verifying entries and comparing system reports

Maintain accounting ledgers by verifying and posting account transactions

Resolve discrepancies with vendors and internal departments

Reconcile monthly checking accounts statements

Prepare account analysis and assist with monthly/annual closings

2. Administrative

Maintain clear, concise records

Ensure security of financial records and information

3. Communication

Communicate clearly with Management and Accounting Team

Professional telephone and electronic communication

Knowledge and experience

Attention to detail and organization while multi-tasking

Reporting and analytics

Written and verbal communication skills

Time management

Problem solving

Experience with Accounting in a professional setting
