Kaleidoscope, a non-profit, child welfare organization located in Chicago, Illinois is seeking to fill the position of Part Time Therapeutic Respite Provider. This position is expected to work up to 10 hours a week. Must have access to vehicle as this position requires traveling throughout Cook County including South, North and West suburbs. For a limited time we are offering a $500 signing bonus

General Description

The Therapeutic Respite Provider will provide respite care for youth with complex psychiatric and developmental needs within ECCS Program.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Position-Specific

  • Demonstrates agency clinical philosophy in all aspects of program activities.
  • Serves as a case aide to the ECCS Program (e.g., providing transportation, childcare during meetings).
  • Attends trainings related to youth's needs and uses appropriate therapeutic respite techniques based on this training. May include training in developmental trauma and developmental delays and disabilities, including Autism Spectrum Disorder.
  • Attends CFTMs to provide supervision to the youth and/or other children in the home during the meeting.
  • Provides transportation for youth to and from home, school, activities, and/or services as part of respite services. Travel time is paid and mileage reimbursed
  • Completes timely and accurate documentation of services provided.
  • Provides therapeutic mentoring, respite, or interim support to youth and caregivers.
  • Completes other duties as assigned by the Therapeutic Activities Coordinator.

General Requirements

Minimum Degree Required: High School Diploma

Minimum Years of Experience: At least 1 year of social service or related experience

Other Requirements: Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication and time management skills

Full time use of minimally insured, operating automobile and valid driver's license. Travel time is paid and mileage reimbursed
