Seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Cloud Infrastructure Engineer. This is a remote position, offering the flexibility to work from anywhere. This critical role involves managing and optimizing cloud infrastructure, with a primary focus on Microsoft Azure and M365, while also supporting AWS and Google Cloud environments. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cloud administration, virtualization technologies, and IT infrastructure management. They will also possess excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to handle complex technical issues.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement strategic plans for cloud services, ensuring alignment with business objectives and growth strategies.
  • Manage and optimize Azure cloud infrastructure, including identity management, network configurations, and the setup of Site-to-Site VPN connections.
  • Oversee the administration and optimization of M365 services, ensuring secure and reliable operations.
  • Implement and manage Azure Backup and Azure Site Recovery solutions for data protection and disaster recovery.
  • Manage and support Azure Virtual Machines, including provisioning, configuration, monitoring, and maintenance.
  • Handle DNS configurations, including both cloud-based DNS services and external DNS through registrars like Network Solutions and GoDaddy.
  • Monitor cloud infrastructure and performance, utilizing tools such as Azure Monitor and Log Analytics.
  • Lead and contribute to infrastructure projects, ensuring high-quality outcomes and timely delivery.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to team members, fostering a collaborative and supportive environment.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of cloud infrastructure, configurations, procedures, and policies.
  • Take ownership of projects and key responsibilities, contributing to broader business initiatives.
  • Track and resolve issues and changes through a ticketing system, ensuring timely and accurate documentation.
  • Communicate project status, activities, and achievements with internal and external partners.
  • Manage user accounts, mailboxes, groups, and distribution lists, ensuring proper access controls.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • 10+ years of experience in leading major cloud infrastructure projects, including technology strategy development and implementation.
  • Microsoft Azure Certification is highly preferred; additional certifications in AWS and Google Cloud are advantageous.
  • Advanced technical proficiency with virtualization platforms, such as VMware and Hyper-V.
  • Extensive experience with cloud infrastructure management, particularly with Microsoft Azure and M365.
  • Proficient in implementing Azure Backup, Azure Site Recovery, and disaster recovery solutions.
  • Strong knowledge of networking concepts and VPN setup in Azure environments.
  • Experience with DNS management, including both cloud-based and external DNS services.
  • Skilled in monitoring and performance tuning, using tools like Azure Monitor and Log Analytics.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple projects.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to changing requirements and environments.
  • Must be available to work outside normal business hours as needed, including being on-call for urgent issues.
