Harbor Health looking for a detail-oriented Clinical Support Specialist to become a member of our team Harbor Health is an entirely new multi-specialty clinic group in Austin, TX utilizing a modern approach to co-create health with those who get, give, and pay for it, allowing everyone to fully flourish. The Clinical Support Specialist will be responsible for the development and configuration of Harbor’s primary, specialty, and express care templates as well as support the management of Harbor’s clinically integrated network.  This position will develop scheduling schemes and manage the referral pipeline to help Harbor meet business benchmarks while supporting clinicians, clinics, and members’ needs. The Clinical Support Specialist will also assist with monitoring clinical productivity, and provide solutions to increase efficiency in our growing health system.

Our Clinical Support Specialist will be responsible for:

  • Maintaining standard operating procedures to support scheduling workflows at all points of booking including online, in office, and via the contact center
  • Developing templates that support Harbor’s various service lines accounting for provider’s clinical FTEs as well as clinics’ hours of operation, and exam room availability
  • Tracking PTO and unanticipated absences to ensure clinic coverage
  • Maintaining multiple data entry sources for company-wide reporting on internal and external referrals
  • Validating contact, group, and location information through various sources
  • Maintaining offline tools to ensure accuracy of clinical runway within the electronic health record
  • Information gathering and proposal development to implement strategic changes that support clinic operations while meeting business needs
  • Collaborating with senior managers to develop, review and modify operational processes, policies, and procedures
  • Providing training, support, and mentoring to clinic managers and support staff as needed

Successful Clinical Support Specialists will have:

  • A minimum of 2 years of Athenahealth experience
  • The ability to generate reports, interpret metrics, and make data-driven decisions
  • A minimum of 3 years experience medical or administrative scheduling
  • The ability to develop solutions that are actionable at all levels of the organization
  • Strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with clinicians, clinical support staff, product, and operations
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Organization and time management skills
  • Proficiency with Google Suite (Google Docs, Google Sheets, Gmail)

Additional Skills & Experiences Preferred include:

  • Associates Degree

Physical Requirements of the role include:

  • 15% travel required
