The Buyer's Edge Platform Fresh Division is an entity comprised of Fresh Concepts, Produce Alliance, Fresh Alliance & Fresh Services with over 35 years of produce management solutions. The Fresh Division provides fresh produce category management services, procurement and contracting, national distribution, freight management, k-12 solutions, technology services, and food safety assurance to food service clients across North America, the Caribbean and beyond. The Fresh Division has a national footprint of over 125+ industry leading distributors in North America, and partnerships with the most premier grower shippers.
While we are accepting interest from remote applicants, preference will be given to candidates who can work a hybrid schedule (approximately 3 days in-office/week) based out of one of our offices in either Chicago or Bannockburn, IL while not traveling. This role will travel at least 50% of the time. We are unable to provide sponsorship for work authorization for this role.
Your impact:
The Produce Support Specialist is a vital, boots-on-the-ground position and is unique to us within the industry. This person needs to have a solutions-oriented approach and enjoy working as a team towards common goals. Extensive paid training is provided
- Responsible for managing produce quality, service requirements, and distributor obligations for roughly 20 regionally assigned distributor partners and our client locations
- Cultivate relationships with our distributor partners and work within our company's guiding principles while conducting client location visits and distributor business reviews
- Client location visits include:
- scoring product quality, storage and handling training
- consulting on application and pack size recommendations
- receiving feedback related to distributor service levels from client locations
- client service evaluation reports share this scoring, feedback, and suggestions
- Client location visits include:
- Support client locations by responding to requests with service-oriented solutions
- Take ownership of all tasks related to the distributors and clients you manage, support client locations by responding to requests for service-oriented solutions
- Directly support our clients & account management team
About you:
- Must be willing to travel at least 50% of the time to distributors and client locations in multiple states and in select instances, outside the continuous 48 states.
- Valid and unrestricted driver's license required. Valid passport preferred.
- A minimum of three years experience in Restaurants or the Food Service Industry is preferred.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent industry experience is required.
- Must be curious to learn and apply critical thinking to a wide range of projects
- Ability to articulate feedback and evaluation criteria in a prompt manner
- Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds at select times
