OCH Technologies is looking for a talented and experienced Technical writer/Business development analyst to join our business development team. You will be responsible for creating clear, concise, and persuasive documents that showcase our company's value proposition and solutions to potential clients. You will work closely with our business development and operational project teams to understand the requirements and specifications of each project, extract critical technical data and processes from SMEs and, in turn, draft compelling proposals that highlight OCH’s unique differentiators and benefits to Government customers. Experience reviewing solicitations and writing federal Government proposal responses in the IT arena is a must. Preferred experience with DOD, DHS, and/or FAA.
Location
Hybrid, with occasional travel on-site to Sterling, VA.
Potential for meetings in Washington, DC to support proposal efforts.
Core Responsibilities & Duties
- Write and edit technical proposals, white papers, case studies, project past performance and other documents that demonstrate our expertise and capabilities in various domains and industries.
- Research and analyze the needs and pain points of the target audience, and tailor the content and tone accordingly to include incorporation of win themes into proposals.
- Collaborate and interview subject matter experts and, project managers, and translate this information into draft language, graphics, tables, and process flows while ensuring quality, accuracy, and consistency for all writing artifacts.
- Follow the best practices and standards of technical writing and adhere to Government solicitation requirements in accordance with client guidelines and expectations.
- Manage multiple projects/proposal efforts simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
- Coordinate and manage various components of Proposals to include schedule, maintaining version control (SharePoint/OneDrive), adjudicating comments/queries, and deriving original content to meet compliance objectives.
- Ensure the clarity, coherence, and quality of written materials, while adhering to established style and formatting guidelines.
- Lead efforts for external outreach/communications to include online platforms (i.e. LinkedIn, website updates, press releases, etc.)
- Stay up to date on industry trends and best practices in proposal writing to include AI-related tools and technical documentation.
- Assist in reviewing and proofreading for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with RFP requirements.

Experience
- At least 3 years of experience in technical writing, proposal writing, or a similar role.
- Familiarity with GovCon specific Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Learned Language Models (LLMs) to leverage existing company capabilities to increase outreach to federal customers
- Excellent technical writing, editing, and communication skills in English.
- Ability to translate complex technical concepts into simple and engaging language and/or tables, process flows and infographics for different audiences.
- Strong attention to detail, ability to create and adhere to compliance matrix to ensure the highest possible quality on final submission documentation.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, Adobe Illustrator, AI/LLM engines and other relevant tools.
- Familiarity with the software development lifecycle, agile methodologies, and common technical IT terms and concepts.
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Technical Writing, English, or an IT-related field.
Security Clearance Requirement
Candidate must have the ability to hold and maintain a Secret Clearance.
