The Children’s Program Supervisor is responsible for the successful daily indoor operations of the Children’s Programs, supporting the highest level of service and best possible lesson experience and progression for our Children’s Program guests. This position works closely with the Snowsports School Director and Manager on appropriate lesson and class assignments of instructors and maintaining daily lesson inventories. Other key duties include staff supervision, scheduling and payroll, providing lesson support, rental process and facility supervision. This position also provides administrative support to the snowsports department. This position requires an organized individual with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to multitask. The Children’s Program Supervisor will also function as a Snowsports Instructor as business levels dictate. This is a key role within the Snowsports Team.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Supervise the daily operation of the Children’s Center including guest check-in, lesson and class assignments, getting lessons out in a timely manner, and provide lesson and instructor support.
  • Function as the lead guest service role within the Children’s Center. Focus on a proactive approach to situations and problem resolution. Respond effectively to customer service issues.
  • Train, motivate and supervise Jr. Instructor and Rental staff. This includes daily work plans, team meetings, and maintaining payroll and schedules to meet company business and profitability goals.
  • Supervise daily set-up and clean-up within the Children’s Center. Maintain facility cleanliness and upkeep.
  • Work with Snowsports School Director and Manager on appropriate daily lesson and class assignments, managing class levels and numbers, and daily class inventories.
  • Ensure complete and accurate liability releases for all lesson and rental equipment issuance. Supervise the rental process in the Children’s Center. Train staff on processes and standards.
  • Maintain and communicate children’s center supply inventories and needs to manager.
  • Assist in maintaining and further developing Children’s Center procedures that will ensure the safety and well-being of employees and guests.
  • Work[MOU1] as a team with Food and Beverage to plan menus, assist in ordering of snacks and meals. Ensuring a healthy selection of food catering to diverse dietary needs while adhering to the budget indicated for Lunches.
  • Provide general administrative support to the department including items such as instructor scheduling and payroll, lesson inventories and department documents.
  • Teach lessons and comply with the job description for a Snowsports Instructor as business levels dictate, possibly switching between Supervisor and Instructor throughout the course of a day.
  • Enforce safety standards in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Job Qualifications

  • Prior Snowsports School experience. Willingness to continually learn, seek out and develop snowsports and child development related skills.
  • Prior Snowsports instructing skills desired (preferred PSIA or AASI certification).
  • Intermediate to advanced skiing/snowboarding ability required.
  • Have understanding and extensive experience working with children, including knowledge of Child Growth & Development.
  • Must demonstrate strong supervisory skills.
  • Ability to move rapidly from task to task, both giving and taking directions.
  • Able to take initiative, be proactive, remain focused, and solve problems.
  • High level of organizational skills.
  • Strong and professional communication skills, both verbal and non-verbal.
  • Ability to work independently and within in a team environment.
  • Safety and risk oriented.
  • Good physical conditioning, including flexibility, strength and endurance.
  • Heavy and awkward lifting up to 50lbs

Work Schedules

Weather conditions and the number of guests play a large role in the work scheduling of Dodge Ridge employees.

When conditions are normal, you may be expected to work 40 up to 48 hours per week, including weekends and holidays. During busy periods, you may be expected to work six (6) days a week.

You must arrange for transportation to work so that you arrive at your designated workstation at the scheduled time. Keep in mind that you will often be required to drive on hilly, snow packed, and icy road surfaces.

Working Conditions

At any time during the ski season, Dodge Ridge employees are often required to perform their tasks in high winds, heavy snowfalls, low visibility, rain, and extremely cold or warm temperatures.

Uniforms

A professional appearance at Dodge Ridge is required. Please wear your name tag and uniform at all times during your scheduled shift. We will provide most of the uniform for your job. However, you will be required to provide items that are listed below. The quality, color, and style of the items must be approved by your manager prior to being worn to work. All hats worn must have the Dodge Ridge logo while on shift.

Employees skiing and riding represents a model for the Responsibility Code for both the guest and fellow employees. You are required to be aware of all safe skiing procedures, trail closures, and out-of-bounds policies.
