Position Overview

As The Bank of Tampa embarks on our digital transformation, we are looking for a temporary Training Specialist. This person will play a vital role in ensuring that The Bank of Tampa employees receive top-notch training, while helping employees develop the required skills and knowledge to perform their responsibilities effectively and excel in their roles. They will collaborate with various teams to develop and deliver effective training programs, design training materials, facilitate instructor-led training sessions, and incorporate engaging activities to enhance the learning experience. The Training Specialist will provide ongoing support and guidance to Subject Matter Experts, while staying updated on industry trends and regulations to ensure our training initiatives are aligned with best practices.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Consistently delivers outstanding client service; providing premiere client satisfaction with a friendly demeanor, can-do attitude, and willingness to help at all times.
  • Works closely with the Change Management Team to understand the impacts on stakeholder groups and roles while ensuring an integrated approach with the training team in leading the development and execution of a detailed training strategy/plan.
  • Designs, updates, and coordinates the writing of high-level training guides, as well as detailed content for different job families.
  • Coordinates, prepares, and conducts training for our new digital banking platform and other bank systems.
  • Presents information, using a variety of adult learning principles, interactive media, industry standards and instructional techniques and formats such as simulations, team exercises, group discussions, certification tests, videos, and lectures.
  • Provides private 1:1 and small training support for those struggling with the transformation.
  • Assesses, evaluates, and anticipates organization and stakeholder training readiness.
  • Maintains a calendar of department-wide employee training events; tracks outstanding employees and works with department leaders.
  • Performs administrative duties associated with program delivery (training room maintenance and set up, rosters, grading assessments, supply orders, and conference room coordination).
  • Participates in digital banking platform team meetings to understand the impending changes and the impact on our employees.
  • Unites with SMEs to provide synergy with the training of employees.
  • Participates in the roll out of the new platform by training employees and serving as the subject matter expert on the Digital banking platform.
  • Collaborates with the Training and Development team to create a transition strategy to ensure continued success upon contract end.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Human Resources or Training & Development or commensurate experience is required.
  • 3+ years of working experience with delivery platform skills, program facilitation and design, and coaching program development is required.
  • Expertise in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel, along with other presentation/training and development related programs is Required.
  • Knowledge and understanding of adult learning principles, and of a wide range of training methods, techniques, and formats.
