Department: Improving Lives of Children
Supervisor: ILC Operations Director
Compensation Range: $18.00
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt –Part-Time/Full-Time
Hours of Work: Monday – Friday; Split Shift- based on needs of Children’s Center. Occasional evening or weekend work.
MISSION STATEMENT:
Eliminate racism, empower women, and promote peace, justice, freedom and dignity for all.
PRIMARY FUNCTION: Safely transport children to and from YWCA Children’s Center in a mini bus.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- A minimum of 1-year experience safely transporting children using a 14-passenger vehicle.
- Hold and maintain a Michigan’s Chauffeur's license.
- Excellent driving record, in accordance with insurance and DHS licensing regulations.
- Physically able to drive and perform all duties related to mini bus operations.
- Ability to meet requirements of Bureau of Regulatory Services licensing.
- Current CPR, first aid, and blood-borne pathogen certification
- Satisfactory response to criminal and child abuse and neglect history checks.
- Demonstrated ability to work with people of diverse backgrounds.
- Effective communication skills with students, parents, and YWCA staff members.
- Ability to pass a federally mandated drug/alcohol screen.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Operate the minibus in a safe and efficient manner.
- Immediately report defective minibus equipment to the ILC Operations Director
- Work effectively with children of varying ages and the YWCA Child Care providers riding the bus.
- Safeguard confidential information gained because of the position.
- Comply with association driving policy.
- Comply with applicable local, state and federal licensing requirements, certification and/or regulations.
- Work cooperatively with program participants, YWCA staff and volunteers.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Clean and service the minibus to include interior cleaning, exterior bus washing, installation of fuel, oil and other fluids as needed.

- Occasionally required to taste or smell
- Occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions (non-weather)
- Continually work near moving mechanical parts
- Occasionally work in high, precarious places
- Occasionally work around fumes, airborne particles, or toxic chemicals
- Frequently exposure to outside weather conditions
- Occasionally exposure to extreme heat or cold (non-weather)
- Occasionally exposure to bloodborne and airborne pathogens or infectious materials
- While performing the duties of this job, the noise level in the work environment is usually quiet; moderate; loud
- The employee must occasionally lift and /or move more than _40___ pounds
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include:Close vision; Distance vision; Color vision; Peripheral vision; Depth perception and ability to adjust focus
