Administrative Assistant Support

The Center for Workforce Inclusion is recruiting for an Administrative Assistant Support position within the Senior Environmental Employment (SEE) Program through a grant, which provides support to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) in New York, NY. Successful candidates must meet the age criteria of being 55 years of age or older and eligible to work in the United States. Selected candidates will also be required to undergo a federal security background check.
Role And Responsibilities: The incumbent processes routine (i.e., non-confidential) RCRA Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests and RCRA Notification Forms and assists in performing RCRA records management activities.
- Review department files and make copies of appropriate files
- Coordinate with other department staff and other program offices, including gathering information for FOIA responses and determining cost of response if necessary
- Query EPA databases (RCRAlnfo, EnviroFacts) for facility information, run standard database reports and prepare electronic responses via FOIAOnline or future electronic FOIA database
- Contact FOIA requestor directly to clarify request, confirm payment, etc.
- Process RCRA Notification Forms and RCRA records management information (data entry)
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications And Education Requirements: Successful candidates must meet the age criteria of being 55 years of age or older and eligible to work in the United States; able to pass a Federal Background check; HS/GED; 3+ years’ experience in computer database queries, customer service, type 40wpm. Must have the ability to use MS Word, MS Excel, Outlook; Prime candidates are self-starters with strong communication and customer relation skills. Must demonstrate ability to work independently as well as in a team environment and provide high level of customer service to internal and external customers. Travel required.
Hours & Compensation: Full-Time position working 32-40 hours per week ($16.20 per hour), vacation/ sick/holiday leave.
