Summary:We are seeking a highly skilled Network Engineer to join our team, responsible for planning, designing, and implementing network infrastructure and enterprise solutions. The ideal candidate will have strong experience with Cisco IOS, network monitoring tools, and disaster recovery planning. This role requires excellent communication skills, the ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex network issues, and the capability to act as a technical lead in the absence of the Network Engineering Manager.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan and design network infrastructure and enterprise network solutions.
  • Troubleshoot, install, implement, and administer network systems, providing Tier III support.
  • Analyze network capacity issues and develop capacity-planning models.
  • Ensure planned testing activities are executed and meet technical criteria.
  • Develop and document network standards and policies.
  • Conduct short- and long-term planning to meet network requirements.
  • Implement and monitor network systems, ensuring network connectivity and performance.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve network issues, recommending software or hardware changes as needed.
  • Perform disaster recovery planning and network performance assessments.
  • Manage vendor relationships and evaluate services provided by vendors.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to network system engineers.
  • Act as Network Engineering Manager in the absence of the manager.

Skills/Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Systems, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in Lab or medical healthcare IT/Desktop support.
  • 5+ years of experience in server and hardware installation and maintenance (Linux, MS).
  • 5+ years of experience in MS local desktop installation and administration.
  • 3+ years of experience participating in vendor technical meetings (network and VPN support).
  • 3+ years of experience working with helpdesk ticketing systems.
  • Strong knowledge of Cisco IOS, firewalls, IPS/IDS, DNS, DHCP, VPN, and NAC.
  • Experience with enterprise system monitoring tools such as SolarWinds, Cisco Works, and WireShark.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Preferred:

  • Familiarity with commercial enterprise-level network services and security products.
  • Experience in vendor management and disaster recovery planning.
