Job Description:

As a Fundraising Specialist, you will be responsible for developing and implementing fundraising strategies to secure financial support for our organization's mission and programs. You will work closely with the fundraising team, senior management, and external stakeholders to cultivate relationships, solicit donations, and manage donor communications. Your role will involve planning fundraising events, campaigns, and initiatives to achieve fundraising goals and sustain the organization's financial health.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  1. Fundraising Strategy and Planning:

    • Develop and execute comprehensive fundraising strategies aligned with organizational objectives and financial needs.
    • Conduct research to identify prospective donors, sponsors, and funding opportunities from individuals, corporations, foundations, and government agencies.
    • Collaborate with senior management and fundraising team to set annual fundraising targets, timelines, and performance metrics.
  2. Donor Cultivation and Relationship Management:

    • Cultivate relationships with existing and prospective donors through personalized outreach, meetings, presentations, and donor stewardship activities.
    • Customize donor communications, proposals, and funding requests to match donor interests and priorities.
    • Maintain donor databases, records, and profiles to track donor interactions, contributions, and engagement strategies.
  3. Fundraising Campaigns and Events:

    • Plan, coordinate, and execute fundraising campaigns, appeals, and special events to engage donors and raise funds.
    • Manage logistics, budgets, and timelines for fundraising events, including sponsorships, ticket sales, and donor recognition activities.
    • Evaluate campaign performance, analyze results, and implement strategies to maximize fundraising effectiveness and donor participation.
  4. Grant Writing and Proposal Development:

    • Research grant opportunities, draft grant proposals, and submit funding applications to foundations, government agencies, and corporate donors.
    • Ensure compliance with grant requirements, reporting deadlines, and donor stewardship obligations.
    • Collaborate with program staff to gather data, outcomes, and impact metrics to support grant proposals and funding requests.
  5. Collaboration and Team Support:

    • Collaborate with marketing, communications, and program teams to align fundraising efforts with organizational messaging and strategic initiatives.
    • Provide support and guidance to fundraising volunteers, committees, and board members in their fundraising activities and donor engagement efforts.
    • Participate in team meetings, strategy sessions, and professional development opportunities to enhance fundraising skills and knowledge.

Skills Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Nonprofit Management, Business Administration, Communications, or related field (Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE) designation is a plus).
  • 3-5 years of experience in nonprofit fundraising, development, sales, or related field, with a proven track record of successful fundraising outcomes.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport, communicate persuasively, and negotiate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including grant writing, donor proposals, and presentation abilities.
  • Proficiency in donor management software (e.g., Salesforce, Raiser's Edge), Microsoft Office Suite, and online fundraising platforms.
  • Strategic thinking with the ability to plan, prioritize, and manage multiple projects and deadlines independently.
  • Passion for the mission of the organization and commitment to ethical fundraising practices.
