The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for providing engineering support for analyzing and improving the efficiency of new and existing manufacturing operations. This position will provide PLC controls technical support for automated equipment and manage new product launches and engineering changes.

This position will be based at ConMet's assembly plant in Chillicothe, Ohio. This is a first shift position.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide engineering support for the development and integration of new product lines into existing plant operations, manage product launches, and engineering changes.
  • Make programming modifications/improvements on automated equipment to improve safety, uptime, quality, and increase throughput.
  • Troubleshoot and advise maintenance/engineering of repairs on electrical/electronic components, including solid sensors (photo eyes, prox. switches), variable frequency drives, PLCs, motors and motor controllers, servo motion controllers, vision systems, robots, etc.
  • Identify manufacturing operations which could best benefit from engineering analysis. Perform detailed analysis of manufacturing operations and propose modifications to improve operations.
  • Analyze material flow and propose improvements for increased cost efficiency. Develop cost-effective and consistent production processes.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering
  • Two years minimum experience in manufacturing, controls, or industrial engineering
  • Allen Bradley PLC software and hardware experience required
  • Working knowledge of CAD design software

Compensation & Benefits

  • Starting salary will vary based on qualifications and prior experience.
  • Targeted annual bonus is based on company performance to objectives during the fiscal plan year.
