A "Day in the Life" of the BI Developer

As the BI Developer, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining Power BI dashboards, performing data analysis, and collaborating with internal stakeholders to meet their reporting needs. You'll play a crucial role in ensuring the operational health and quality of all dashboards, aligning them with departmental and organizational goals. Your role will involve looking at data across all aspects of the business, requiring a broad understanding of various business functions.

Overview of Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain Power BI visualizations and dashboards
  • Perform in-depth data analysis to identify trends and business insights
  • Collaborate with internal partners and stakeholders to gather requirements and understand reporting needs
  • Ensure operational health and quality of all dashboards
  • Align dashboards with individual department and organizational goals
  • Collect and integrate data from various sources
  • Create and maintain sales dashboards and other key business area reports
  • Continuously improve data visualization and reporting processes

What You'll Need to Succeed

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Computer Science, or related field
  • 5+ years of experience in business intelligence or related role
  • Strong proficiency in Power BI for creating visualizations and dashboards
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Proven experience in data analysis and problem-solving
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Experience with machine learning concepts
  • Knowledge of data science principles
  • Skills in advanced analytics and modeling
  • Ability to translate complex data into understandable insights
  • Experience working with sales data and creating sales dashboards
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong interpersonal skills for effective stakeholder collaboration
  • Curiosity and eagerness to learn new technologies and methodologies
