Job Summary:

The Inventory Control Specialist receives all incoming inventory and handles all the stocking of material, manages inventory in production shop system, print job travelers, and pulls material for jobs. The Specialist also helps with shipping finished product to the customer. The position is self-directed and collaborative. The position follows standard work methods and practices safe work habits to ensure our customers get the best products possible.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Verify and receive all incoming inventory.
  • Stock inventory and manage inventory accuracy in the Production Shop System.
  • Print Job Travelers.
  • Pull and verify the correct material for each job.
  • Route received materials to the correct department, work order, or service order.
  • Ship finished products to customers. Ship inventory as needed to support orders. Ensure the quality of each shipment.
  • Work independently or with a team.
  • Utilize safe, quality practices.
  • Maintain inventory and production stock areas cleanliness and organization.
  • Initiate process improvement to reduce material handling, improve material quality, grow inventory accuracy, and reduce material cost. Reduce production downtime related to inventory.
  • Cross-train and learn other functions as needed.

  • The employee may be asked to handle power tools and to manipulate tools, wires, and components.
  • The position involves lifting less than 20 pounds for short periods throughout the day.

Position Type & Expected Hours of Work:

This is a full-time position, and hours of work are Monday through Friday, day shift or swing shift.

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Experience driving a forklift.
  • Proactive communication and the ability to handle details with accuracy.
  • Experience with organizing, cleaning, and attention to details.
  • 2-year associate degree
  • Warehouse, receiving, pulling, and inventory accuracy experience is a plus.
  • Experience with production software is a plus.
  • Experience with process and quality improvement is a plus.
  • Quality or leadership experience is a plus.
