Job Title: Consumer Loan Processor

Location: Main Branch - Consumer Loan Department

Status: Full-Time (40 hours a week, some Saturdays required)

Supervisor: Consumer Loan Department Manager


Position Purpose

Review system auto-approvals for accuracy. Coordinate with Member Service Representatives to provide documentation to members to complete loan for funding, for original request, as well as additional financial products member, has accepted. Contact insurance to secure lien information and adequate deductibles. Complete loan packets and corrections, if necessary, for each loan in a timely manner.


Essential Duties, Skills & Abilities

  • Exhibit outstanding member service skills by applying Granite Credit Union Core Values.
  • Reviews loan application for completeness. Completes auto checks, title reports, verifications of income, and loan documents.
  • Review system auto-approvals for accuracy in income and collateral, if applicable, eliminating underwriting
  • Coordinates and processes closings. Distributes loan documentation to appropriate personnel, or member, through preferred delivery channels. Ensures that each loan is promptly and properly prepared, documented, processed, approved, and disbursed.
  • Verifies car insurance coverage, notifies insurance of lien change and
  • Completesloandocumentationpacketsforreview, focusing on accuracy and timeliness in completing documentation
  • Keeps informed of current trends in consumer
  • Authorize release of collateral on existing loans, change in terms, payment extensions, and due date changes, prepare proper documentation, and complete file maintenance for transactions.
  • Participates in sales development activities for loan products and
  • Ensure that all information and transactions regarding credit union members are kept confidential. Maintain the security of the work area and keep it organized and neat in appearance.
  • Maintain a professional and courteous attitude with all people, including fellow employees, members, management staff, board members, and outside vendors.
  • Attend meetings as required.
  • Promote a professional appearance and attitude.
  • Basic computer operating skills such as email, Microsoft Office, etc.
  • Performs other job duties as

Required Knowledge

Knowledge of consumer lending laws and regulations.

Knowledge of mortgage lending laws and regulations.

2-3 years of consumer loan processing experience (preferred).


Education

High School Diploma or equivalent
