As a Shipping and Receiving Coordinator, you will carry out our mission to improve the experience of aging together by performing shipping and receiving functions, maintains inventory control and stocks nursing units and departments with adequate supplies.
What will I do as a Shipping and Receiving Coordinator?
- Maintain established par levels to meet resident and facility needs. Maintain Central Supply and loading dock in a clean and orderly manner. Rotate dated inventory products to minimize waste. Conduct physical inventory periodically. Complete forms and reports as needed.
- Maintain established par levels in all Nursing unit supply storage areas. Deliver emergency supplies upon request.
- Deliver supplies and equipment to all non-nursing departments as needed.
- Receive, sign for, unpack, verify, and match receipts to vendor invoices; report any discrepancies; note any damage. Enter information about received goods into software program to close open purchase orders to permit payments to be made. Receive deliveries via US Postal Service, UPS, FedEx, and vendor shipments. Deliver goods to units/departments or central storage in a timely manner to meet customer needs. Maintain properly documented and organized receiving records.
- Gather, verify, and pack items for shipment according to specifications and the transportation method used. Select most cost-effective shipping method that will meet user needs. Prepare shipping labels. Arrange for pickups of items to be shipped. Maintain log of shipped items. Maintain inventory of packaging materials.
- Follows sound safety procedures. Provide support during emergency disaster situations. Maintain a safe, neat, and orderly condition in the central storeroom. Identify defective equipment for maintenance to be repaired as needed according to established procedures. Ensure safety of work area for staff, residents, and visitors.
- Other duties as assigned, including but not limited to, exterior grounds work, assisting with snow/ice removal, and driving company vehicles as needed.
What is required in this position?
- Requires high school diploma or equivalent.
- Requires valid driver's license.
- Requires 1 year of experience in a healthcare facility.
- Requires knowledge of concepts and practices for warehousing.
- Requires knowledge of Procedures and rates for various shipping methods.
- Requires knowledge of Microsoft Office and software applications relating to shipping and receiving.
- Must have basic math skills.
- Must have skills in use of manual and motorized pallet jacks, hand carts, hand trucks and similar equipment in the delivery of supplies.
- Must be able to communicate on the telephone and two-way radio.
