Technical Sales - Spray Foam

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Technical Sales [Representative] is professionally trained and informed about all aspects of the spray foam business. Fabrication, mechanics, parts, foams and services are the area of expertise. This role will stay informed in all areas as it relates to sales and pricing and training of our customers and the sales team. Fabrication - trucks as well as trailers, Equipment Repairs and parts, Equipment Rentals, and Foam Chemical Stock. Under the direction of the Sales Manager the Sales and Training Representative can act as the spokesperson for the company when discussing pricing and recommendations for our customers for technical, service, parts and supplies. This includes discussions with customers and timely follow up with written and verbal communication, proposals and quotes with professionalism and technical competency.

Major responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to:

  • Seek industry knowledge of the Spray Foam Industry all products and services
  • Develop knowledge and skills necessary to complete sales and training tasks successfully, with customers, training customers as well as internal staff, to support business needs
  • Schedule customer visits and develop relationships as directed by Management or designee
  • Provide to Management weekly customer log and status of customer meetings and completed sales
  • Trouble shoot questions for customers when in the field or assigned to phone coverage
  • Must have expert knowledge of:
    1. Equipment repairs and pricing-
      1. New equipment builds and pricing - trucks as well as trailers
        1. Materials, supplies and new products, and keeping all customers informed about the industry
          1. Demonstrating and teaching spray foaming safety and application techniques to associates and customers

Secondary responsibilities include:

  • Phone and tech support for customers when in the field and assigned at the office
  • Scheduling or completing emergent work or special projects as assigned or requested
  • Back up participant for Sales Manager as assigned for weekly communication meeting between Departments to present and track achievements/opportunities

Preferred skills:

  • All technical aspects of building, maintaining, repairing and up-grading spray foam systems and quoting
  • Professional Representative of the Company for direct customer meetings and problem resolutions
  • Working knowledge of QuickBooks
  • Good communication skills - internally and externally-verbal, email, Texting, etc.
  • Coaching, mentoring and training skills

Additional Notes

The main focus of this person is to be a leader and promote sales and training for internal team members as well as be proactive with communications, sales, quotes and training with current and prospective customers. This role will ensure SFDONE is aligned with customer needs and always ready to support their foam, rigs, repairs and business growth. This position is a customer facing position and may be a primary reason a sale is made or not made. Being known as technical leaders in the field provides Spray Foam with a marketing advantage over our competition. The credibility of this person is paramount making and maintaining customers.
