Job Overview

The Behavioral Clinical Supervisor is responsible for overseeing our mixed team of BCBA therapists and Behavior Specialists in their service delivery to students participating in campus programs; this individual will provide clinical leadership and direction for the whole program including but not limited to supervising and defining individual Behavior Plans and Group therapy; the implementation of evidence informed programming; FBAs/BIPs as well as the development of programs or tools that support the social and emotional learning of the entire community. All programs will be developed in accordance to best practices in the field, evolving practices, and adherence to Sanctuary principles utilizing Sanctuary tools, and the development of additional tools as needed, the creation of an annual assessment of student and staff progress and over site of compliance in documentation.

The Supervisor is also responsible for the management of the team’s budget, electronic documentation, and ensuring compliance to requirements and standards of clinical care, BCBA practitioners and oversight of the functioning of the team. This position reports to the Sr Clinical Director of our Residential Program and will work collaboratively with the rest of the leadership team to ensure best care for our residents and their families.

Essential Duties

Key duties of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Ensures all policies and procedures are monitored, reviewed, developed, and updated as needed
  • Ensures that all assessments and data are administered and collected effectively
  • Responsible for overseeing implementation of clinical work plan, maintaining excellence in care and FBA/BIP that is evidence informed, particularly related to serving children with chronic trauma, children on the spectrum, children with mood dysregulation and other mood disorders
  • Responsible for hiring, training, and supervising day-to-day operations of residential behavioral treatment team
  • Monitors key performance indicators for the team and for all children receiving services in residential program
  • Monitors the external environment for changes in laws, rules and regulations and integrates those changes into agency practices.
  • Leads special projects under the direction of the Sr Clinical Director of Residential Services
  • Works collaboratively with colleagues across programs on special projects and day to day issues.
  • Ensuring that standards of clinical care and BCBA standards of practice are monitored and updated
  • Participates in the development of behavioral support models that are supportive of Sanctuary principles assuring that any models includes monitoring of effectiveness, adherence to existing approaches, and includes multiple perspectives ensuring increased effectiveness and success
  • Supports overall strategic plan of the organization
  • Ability to adhere to our organization’s core values and commitments

Essential Qualifications

Key qualifications include:

  • MA required
  • BCBA Certification candidate + L privilege eligible
  • Minimum of two years experience of supervising preferred
  • Minimum of 3 years experience with youth
  • Strong verbal, written, and computer skills
  • Proven experience working with children who have high functioning autism as well as a range of comorbid psychiatric challenges, learning challenges, trauma histories, and sensory needs
  • Valid NYS Driver’s License
  • Ability to access and utilize ADP app on smartphone or other device for access to agency programs

Physical/Travel Requirements

  • Must possess ability to sit, stand, walk, run, climb stairs
  • Candidates who are successfully hired, must participate in our Therapeutic Crisis Intervention training which concludes with a written and verbal test, and you will be evaluated on conducting a proper physical restraint.
