Position Summary: The Inventory Accountant will ensure the accuracy of inventory data and contribute to the financial health and operational efficiency of the organization, in addition to various day-to-day activities.

Job Functions:

  • Record all inventory transactions in the accounting system.
  • Ensure the accuracy of inventory numbers by monitoring inventory levels, conducting regular audits and reconciliations, and correcting discrepancies.
  • Prepare inventory reports for management, including inventory valuation, variance analysis, and cost of goods sold.
  • Analyze inventory trends and identify opportunities for process improvement.
  • Collaborate with other departments, including purchasing, manufacturing, and sales, to ensure accurate inventory forecasting and planning.
  • Manage and report on all inventory-related expenses, such as freight and storage costs.
  • Ensure compliance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and company policies for inventory accounting.
  • Maintains ledgers and daily financial transactions.
  • Identify discrepancies in ledgers and accounts, tracking them to the source and correcting them.
  • Month-end close.
  • Prepare accrual/provision entries.
  • Financial Statement Analysis
  • Assist with internal and annual audits.
  • Perform reconciliations of accounts
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Job Qualifications:

  • College degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
  • Minimum 3 years of accounting experience in a Manufacturing environment
  • Strong ERP system experience, preferably in SAP.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel) or related software as well as other accounting software programs.
  • Experienced communicator, both written and verbal, able to communicate complex concepts and risk factors to influence decision making.
  • Experienced business partner, skilled in building trust and inspiring others while ramping in a new business and role.
  • Excitement around navigating a hyper-growth, rapidly changing, and sometimes ambiguous environment.
  • Regular and timely attendance required.
