Role Overview:

The General Laborer is responsible for completing various tasks for the production team which may include, but are not limited to, assisting with plumbing, installing cabinets and shelves, hanging drywall, installing molding or trim, ensuring measurements for all materials (wood, metal, and others) are cut accurately, and paint preparation. Work may also include performing repair work and installing hardware.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Perform a variety of skilled and semi-skilled maintenance repair work including carpentry, plumbing and electrical maintenance.
  • Ability to build, repair and install such items as counters, cabinets, benches, partitions, floors, doors, windows, building framework, roofs, ceiling and floor tiles and trim while following verbal or written instructions utilizing the tools of the carpentry trade and following standard carpentry techniques according to customer specifications, and safety codes.
  • Perform general millwork; may build cabinets, furniture and other wooden equipment in the shop using woodworking machines. Maintain shop machinery.
  • May conduct inspections of the facility to determine maintenance needs and recommend priorities for repair based on the nature of the maintenance problem.
  • Reading blueprints and specifications to ensure accuracy of project.
  • Operate a variety of hand tools and power tools.

Required Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of various building materials, tools, and power equipment.
  • Familiar with HVAC maintenance, in addition to plumbing and/or electrical work maintenance.
  • Experience in utilizing various hand tools and power tools.
  • Experience in reading blueprints and/or schematics.
  • Ability to take direction and quickly change tasks as directed.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Forklift certified.
  • Previous experience in a warehouse environment.
  • Previous experience in metal fabrication.
