Position: Exercise Physiologist

Department: Cardio Pulmonary Rehab

Location: Cass City, MI

Hours: Full Time. Days. Full Benefits.

Aspire Rural Health System is seeking a full time Exercise Physiologist within our Cardio Rehab Department. We are looking for those who have a great attitude to join our dedicated team of healthcare professionals who are constantly striving to provide the highest quality of services for our patient.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Certification by the American College of Sports Medicine as a Clinical Exercise Physiologist (CEP) or Registered Clinical Exercise Physiologist (RCEP)
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred in exercise science or related field.
  • Current BLS & ACLS certification required at date of hire by the American Heart Association. Must obtain within 6 months of hire date
  • Minimum of one year experience in related field preferred.
  • Two to three years experience in cardiovascular rehabilitation services preferred.

RESPONSIBILITIES: To review patient records and medical history to assess the medical condition of the patient. To coordinate with the medical director to develop individualized treatment plans/exercise programs. Collaborates with physicians and other healthcare team members to develop, implement, and monitor the patient’s therapy program. Assesses cardiovascular and metabolic effects of exercise for cardiac and musculoskeletal rehabilitation. Creates educational materials and works with patients to establish goals and objectives. To instruct patients on proper exercise techniques while promoting safety and optimal effectiveness. Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. May also work in the exercise stress testing laboratory or in other clinical settings where exercise training has been shown to be of therapeutic benefit such as Pulmonary Rehabilitation.
