We are looking for a post-production theatrical DI trailer producer to supervise theatrical trailer finishes at our projection locations (3D experience a plus). As a trailer producer you would oversee and coordinate all aspects of the trailer finish, including footage acquisition and coordinating dailies, WIP and final graded elements from show color DI, conform, color, VFX, graphics, mix, client approval and final deliverables. Our ideal candidate would have the ability to work as part of a team spanning many disciplines, but also thrive as an independent, proactive problem solver. Excellent client facing communication skills and attention to detail are crucial in this role, as is the ability to organize complex, rapidly changing projects that span multiple teams and transition from the projection space to online and broadcast deliverables. We value quality, collaboration, and a desire to learn.

Responsibilities:

  • Serves as the direct liaison between the Picture Head Trailer Department and client. Works with studio marketing executives, filmmakers, creative executives, creative agencies, vendors, and various post-production facilities to coordinate and execute the successful finishing of marketing A/V pieces.
  • Delivers a seamless, timely and accurate finishing process that ensures a positive client experience.
  • Clearly communicates with the client throughout the length of the project regarding timelines, workflow, approval procedures, and deliverables to align expectations between the client and the internal team.
  • Partners with the Operations & Scheduling teams to define workflows, personnel, and facilities needed for each project.
  • Creates project schedules that are informed by an understanding of the entire workflow, from the start of the project to the finished deliverables. Communicates schedule and workflow changes in a timely and accurate manner to the post-production team.
  • Organizes pre-production meetings at the onset of each project to ensure all internal parties are in sync regarding expectations, schedules, workflows, milestones, etc.
  • Manages and oversees the work of the editors, mixers, colorists, graphics, and VFX teams, helping to troubleshoot complications that may arise during any stage of the finishing process. Prioritizes team workload according to deadlines and client needs.
  • Communicates changes to budgets, schedules and overtime needs to both internal parties and clients as needed.
  • Facilitates the recording of both billable and non-billable time and approves pre-bills before they are sent to the client.
  • Maintains Picture Head’s high standards for quality and accuracy by reviewing and evaluating the final online, color and mix before it is reviewed by clients.
  • Assesses project delivery requirements and oversees a rigorous QC process on all masters. Coordinates delivery of masters per client specifications.
  • Facilitates and leads client-supervised sessions for edit/mix/color and manages talent and client expectations before, during, and after the session.

Required Skills:

  • Knowledge of 2D and 3D Projection, P3, XYZ, HD, UHD, 4K, Dolby Vision workflows, including online editing, color correction, graphics creation, and broadcast standards.
  • Excellent communication skills to manage both projects and staff, as well as interface with clients.
  • Flexibility to evaluate and prioritize rapidly changing client needs while delivering projects under tight deadlines.
  • Excellent organizational and creative problem-solving skills to work on multiple projects simultaneously while displaying a high level of professionalism and commitment.
  • The ability to holistically assess projects to anticipate, communicate, and solve potential problems.
  • Familiarity with theatrical post-production finishing and formats, including color spaces and a basic understanding of color science.
  • Excellent understanding of the whole production pipeline from pre-production through post and finishing, including the ability to accurately assess the time requirements for all tasks.
  • Understanding of the capabilities of industry standard hardware and software including Flame, Resolve, Baselight, Premier.
  • The ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
