Position: Store Manager, Kailua-Kona & Waikoloa (Both Locations).  Anticipated start date is October 1st.

Job Description:

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Store Manager to lead our team at Gecko Girlz Shave Ice across two locations: Kailua-Kona shop on Ali’i Drive and the upcoming location in Waikoloa. Our Store Manager will work alongside their team and run the business by overseeing daily operations, building and leading great teams, creating a special and fun place in the community, ensuring exceptional customer service, and driving financial success while maintaining the highest standards of quality and cleanliness.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage day-to-day operations of the store, including inventory management, scheduling, and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Managing employees, direct supervisor of all store employees
  • Weekly creation of employee schedules in Homebase (to be checked by Owner).  Including rearranging schedules when conflicts arise to ensure the shop is properly staffed. 
  • Store Manager shall be scheduled for 40 hours/week including roughly 24 hours/week of customer service floor time, including Shave Ice creation and/or Point of Sale (POS).  Additionally, the Store Manager shall be available and prepared to cover shifts for employee no-shows/emergencies, as needed.  
  • Responsible for training new employees, and possible re-training of existing employees if needed. 
  • Motivate a team of enthusiastic employees to deliver excellent customer service and uphold our brand standards.
  • Assist Owner with hiring and interviews of new employees 
  • Weekly one hour meeting with Owner to review shop operations. 
  • Promotes the culture, values, and mission of Gecko Girlz.
  • Maintain a welcoming and inviting atmosphere for customers, ensuring they receive prompt service and enjoy a memorable experience.
  • Handle customer inquiries, feedback, and complaints in a professional and efficient manner.
  • Weekly deep cleaning of the shop:
  • Deep cleans of coolers, fridges, sinks, front wall of store
  • Deep sweep, mop, shelf cleaning
  • Organizes shop
  • Takes inventory weekly, including ice cream orders
  • Reports items needed, broken, unsatisfactory conditions that need better processes.
  • Store operation prep, including: drinks, simple syrup, snow caps, purees, lychee purees, nuts, coconut, mochi, sugar and flour containers
  • Manage financial aspects of the store, including cash handling, banking, and reporting.


Store Manager skills and experience required are:

  • Preferred previous experience in a managerial role within the food and beverage industry, ideally in a fast-paced environment such as a cafe, dessert shop, or similar setting.
  • Able to provide excellent customer service to all guests
  • Able to work under pressure and maintains a calm demeanor at all times 
  • Someone reliable who always arrives at their shift on time and maintains a consistent attendance
  • Able to work flexible hours that include early afternoons, evenings, weekends, and holidays (store closed Thanksgiving, Christmas and Christmas Eve.  Working July 4th evening is a must.)
  • Is a great multi-tasker and able to perform many different tasks within the store during each shift
  • Strong planning, organizational and problem solving skills
  • Strong communication and leadership skills with the ability to coach and mentor team partners with professional maturity
  • Reliable transportation (must be able to drive between Kailua-Kona and Waikoloa)
  • Minimum High School graduate or GED
