Job Summary: The Inventory Control Specialist and Tool Crib Attendant is responsible for managing inventory levels, ensuring the availability of tools and equipment, and maintaining accurate records. This role requires attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with various teams. The specialist will oversee the tool crib operations, including issuing and tracking tools, conducting regular audits, and ensuring compliance with safety standards.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Inventory Management

  • Monitor and manage inventory levels for tools, equipment, supplies and PPE
  • Conduct regular inventory audits to ensure accuracy and identify discrepancies.
  • Initiate requisitions for inventory items as needed and work with MRO suppliers where applicable.
  • Maintain accurate records of inventory transactions and updates in the inventory management system.
  • Analyze purchasing data to optimize inventory levels for MRO and items stored in the tool crib.

Tool Crib Operations

  • Oversee the daily operations of the tool crib, including issuing and receiving inventory, tools, and equipment.
  • Ensure tools and equipment are properly maintained, cleaned, and stored.
  • Track the usage and location of tools to minimize loss and ensure availability.
  • Implement and enforce safety protocols for tool handling and storage.
  • Provide support and training to staff on proper tool usage and safety procedures.

Administrative Duties

  • Prepare and maintain inventory reports, including stock levels, usage patterns, and procurement needs.
  • Coordinate with other departments to ensure timely availability of tools and supplies.
  • Address and resolve any inventory-related issues or discrepancies.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of inventory control policies and procedures.

Safety and Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company policies.
  • Conduct safety inspections of the tool crib and inventory storage areas.
  • Report any safety hazards or concerns to the appropriate personnel.

Facility Maintenance

  • Operates Sweeper and Scrubber through facility
  • Sweep, mop and maintain cleanliness of various areas throughout the facility
  • Empty trash bags, containers and bins throughout the facility
  • Act as point of contact for vendors with recurring facility services, rags and mats, eye wash and fire extinguisher inspections, first aid and PPE re-stocking etc.
