Harrison Gray Search has partnered with one of the most well-known insurance agencies in West Michigan that is looking for an experienced Commercial Lines (Middle Market) Account Manager in West Michigan.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Service existing clients needs: billing, coverage, process questions, process cancellations
  • Ensure client has adequate insurance coverage and the policy matches coverage requested; review policies and endorsements for accuracy
  • New business calls, screen and educate prospective clients
  • Quote and issue new and renewal business
  • Handle bond issues
  • Provide first contact for new claim report; fax loss report to carrier
  • Enter, check and close out follow-up items regarding marketing new and renewal accounts
  • Handle communication with clients and carriers by telephone, fax and email in a prompt, efficient, and polite manner
  • Obtain renewal information for current carrier, assess underwriting issues, and collect data from insured
  • Build relationships within agency and with carriers
  • Issue insurance certificates
  • Compose word documents (letters, proposals, memos, etc.)
  • Document activities, conversations, and coverage issues electronically
  • Provide back up for other Account Managers
  • Prioritize mail; distribute and/or respond in a timely manner
  • Comply with organizational policies and procedures, including code of conduct and attendance policy

Qualifications:

  • College education or 2-3 years agency experience
  • Property and Casualty License
  • CISR Designation desirable
  • Maintain knowledge of industry such as new product information, coverage, and technology to stay current and fulfill continuing education requirements
  • Computer skills, including word processing, spreadsheets, database management, email, and data entry skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize with numerous interruptions
  • Ability to accurately complete basic math calculations, including equations with decimals and fractions
  • Ability to problem solve
  • Organizing and coordinating skills
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Ability to work with a diverse group of people and personality types
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

Individuals with backgrounds in Commercial Insurance, Commercial Lines, Commercial Lines Account Management, Commercial Lines Underwriting, Account Management within Insurance, Brokerage Experience, and Agency Experience are encouraged to apply.

  • This position is located in Greater Grand Rapids, Michigan.The company offers a hybrid work schedule (3 days at home, 2 days in office)
