- Oracle PeopleSoft Applications: Proficiency in Oracle PeopleSoft applications and modules is essential. This includes knowledge of PeopleSoft Financials, Human Capital Management (HCM), Supply Chain Management (SCM), and Customer Relationship Management (CRM). The individual should have hands-on experience in configuring, customizing, and integrating PeopleSoft solutions to meet business requirements.
- ERP Systems: In addition to Oracle PeopleSoft, familiarity with other ERP systems and their functionalities is beneficial. This includes understanding the core modules and processes within ERP systems, such as finance, procurement, manufacturing, and distribution.
- Business Organizational Processes: A deep understanding of organizational processes and workflows is necessary to align ERP implementations with business objectives. The individual should be able to analyze current business processes, identify areas for improvement, and recommend solutions that optimize efficiency and productivity.
- Technical Skills: While not necessarily required to be a developer, the Project Manager should have a basic understanding of technical concepts related to ERP systems, such as database management, system integrations, data migration, and reporting tools. This knowledge enables effective communication with technical teams and facilitates problem-solving during the implementation process.
- Change Management: Experience in change management principles and techniques is valuable for leading organizational change initiatives associated with ERP implementations. The individual should be able to anticipate and address resistance to change, engage stakeholders, and foster a culture of adoption and continuous improvement.
- Communication and Leadership: Strong communication and leadership skills are essential for effectively managing cross-functional teams, facilitating stakeholder meetings, and navigating complex project dynamics. The individual should be able to inspire and motivate team members, resolve conflicts, and build consensus to achieve project goals. Furthermore, effective communication and stakeholder management skills would be crucial in garnering support for the project and ensuring buy-in from key stakeholders throughout the organization. The Project Manager would need to collaborate closely with IT teams, business units, and external vendors to coordinate efforts and overcome any roadblocks encountered during the project.
- Overall, successfully managing a major ERP upgrade or migration project requires a combination of technical expertise, strategic thinking, and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to adapt and innovate in response to evolving project requirements and circumstances.
- Effective communication skills enable the Oracle PeopleSoft and ERP Project Manager to convey information, facilitate understanding, build consensus, and drive alignment among stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle. These skills are critical for ensuring project success and achieving organizational goals.
- A security clearance is not initially required but the issuance of a DOE uncleared badge will be required. Candidates must be capable of obtaining and maintaining a “L” clearance if required to perform assigned duties.
Responsibilities:
- Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) Project Manager to oversee the planning, implementation, and execution of the Oracle PeopleSoft and other ERP software projects.
- Strong background in project management, with extensive knowledge of Oracle PeopleSoft applications and ERP systems.
- Responsible for leading cross- functional teams, managing project timelines and budgets, and ensuring the successful delivery of projects within scope and quality standards.
- Lead the planning, execution, and monitoring of Oracle PeopleSoft and other ERP software projects from initiation to closure.
- Define project scope, objectives, and deliverables in collaboration with stakeholders, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and requirements.
- Develop detailed project plans, schedules, and budgets, and oversee project resources to ensure timely and cost- effective delivery.
- Manage cross-functional project teams, including internal staff, external consultants, and vendors, to ensure effective collaboration and communication.
- Identify and mitigate project risks and issues and develop contingency plans to address unforeseen challenges.
- Monitor project progress and performance metrics, and provide regular updates to stakeholders, including senior management and project sponsors.
- Ensure compliance with project management methodologies, best practices, and quality standards throughout the project lifecycle.
- Facilitate stakeholder meetings, workshops, and training sessions to gather requirements, solicit feedback, and promote user adoption of Oracle PeopleSoft and other ERP solutions.
- Manage change requests and scope changes, and assess their impact on project timelines, budgets, and resources.
- Lead post- implementation reviews and lessons learned sessions to identify areas for improvement and drive continuous process enhancements.
- Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in Oracle PeopleSoft and other industry leading ERP systems and provide recommendations for system enhancements and optimizations.
- Analyze complex business and technical problems for solution through electronic data processing and computer software.
- Develop or collect system requirements and design needs from business owners and managers for moderately complex critical business software needs.
- Document detailed description of user requirements, program functions, and steps required to develop or modify computer programs.
- Complete complex software development methodologies, testing, design, and implementation.
- Provide a direct communication and interface between the software business system users and the database administrators and software developers to provide a solution for the continual operations and improvement of the critical process.
- Work with software developers to develop creative and cost-effective solutions to complex business problems.
- Communicate on moderately complex problems and systematic solutions at senior and executive management levels.
- Prepare and present accomplishments and methodologies at offsite workshops and webinars sharing knowledge with peer groups both at and off site. Subcontractor should be able to work with little to no direction to complete assigned tasks.
